I will, to the best of my capacity for reason, share what I learned about which metric Google uses to entitle those two historical figures. If Mahomet is a prophet, then Jesus should be called the Messiah. That claim is a bold one because of its implications to the infidels, but then the same holds true for calling Mahomet a prophet. Since Jesus is not a prophet, we can assume it is not using the Islamic metric; likewise, since Mahomet is not a prophet, we can assume it is not using the Christian metric. I looked up Moses and he is listed as a prophet, but again, what good is that to, say, a Shinto who, as an infidel to both a Christian and a Muslim, does not believe Moses is a Prophet? Amaterasu, the Shinto Sun Goddess, is listed as an Akami, or Great Spirit. The Hindu trinity? Brahma the creator as god, both Vishnu the preserver and Shiva the destroyer entitled as deity. The Greek Trinity? Zeus, Poseidon and Hades all as god, demi-god Hercules as divinity. The Buddha is listed as a philosopher. If the metric is that the historical figures or deities bear the same titles of which the pious conferred, then why is Jesus the only one who is different?
Agreed. I think the biggest disconnect for Gulag here is that they're taking Islam and using the respectful title for Muhammed that his worshippers use in "Prophet Muhammed" but for Jesus it's like someone who doesn't care about the Bible at all skimmed it and said "OK, so Jesus is basically a preacher. Say that."
I have to believe if they had asked someone who cared about Jesus what title they should give him they would say "The Son of God" or "The Lord Christ". This is definitely unequal treatment.
