Sorry, odd-ladypede-out here. No fun or positivity to offer. All I think about every day is why are we letting this virus charade go on? Week after week of the "new normal"? Why is everyone so patient and complacent? Is it inertia? No phases, just end the lockdown NOW!
I feel the same way. There were Karens on Nextdoor today calling out specific streets in my neighborhood where they had seen unmasked, “entitled” people walking with their kids with a ton of likes and comments supporting her. I’m scared at how quickly so many people have rolled over and accepted all of it. It’s been really wearing on me lately and I’ve been feeling super down. They 100% need to end the lockdown NOW!!!
YOU don't need to obey. You have constitutional rights. Exercise them and be the change you want to see. Set the trend and others will follow.
I don't wear a mask, yet no one is following. I patronize open businesses, but I can't make others open up. I can't rehire the fired. I can't stop the fake news. I can't stop milk from being dumped and cattle from being slaughtered (and not eaten).
Maybe you should stop worrying about what you can't do and concentrate on what you can do? Call and email your local, state and federal representatives. Daily, if need be. Inform yourself regarding your Constitutional rights and what are actually laws that should be followed and what aren't. Inform people around you of these same things. Do what you can do and that's enough. Just a thought. Oh, and being around a person who is a Debbie Downer type is exhausting and unpleasant. Could be that's why you're lonely. Don't mean that in a harsh way, just pointing it out for your consideration. Take care.
Oh, so one or two comments informs you about me enough to call me a Debbie Downer, Karen? How freaking perceptive and intrusive of you. Fix your own attitude and keep your dumb advice to yourself. Expressing concern in very concerning times is appropriate, but sadly, only women are expected to be stepford wives all the time, or they are considered bitches or downers. You don't have such a name for men, and even if you did, you would never think to apply it to them. And btw, to anyone with a brain, it is obvious that my username refers to the state of being a conservative in the worst leftist land of SF, not for being unloved or unlovable.
