Called the Cheif of Police, Kenny Culpepper's office. Was going to leave a message of support for the Resturant owner.

They transferred me to his office and he picked up. Talked directly to him. Was very respectful. He claimed that he knows the owner and has for years. Said he went by and talked to her and asked if she could just wait 9 more days.

I responed that the 14th amendment guarantees equal protection under the law. How is it equal for HD/Lowes to effectively recieve a stimulus while family businesses are destroyed. I explained I am self employed person. Shutting down is not an option. I don't believe this particular police dept wants to enforce these orders. In closing I just asked him to please respect the constitution.

You are sworn to uphold the Constitution and LAWFUL orders. You are under no obligation to enforce any unconstitutional orders. Executive orders like judicial orders are rarely Constitutional. The Executive orders are for the Executive branch.

I know many people adore Lincoln. In fact, my GGGGGrandfather (William Price Clary) was a very close friend of his by all contemporary records. But he shredded the Constitution in persuit of political ideology. His ends were Noble, but his means were UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The judiciary was already far down this path with "Marbury vs Madison" the first Unconstitutional Power Grab with unchecked authority.

We must restore CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT with it's CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS. Workarounds for political gain, even our own, cannot be tolerated any longer.

Yep Lincoln shut down papers, arrested journalists, bribed congressmen with jobs for their kids, and started a war. All because a good part of population felt like they were facing a tyrannical government.

What was Lincoln's response? Basically, "Oh, I'll show you Southern hillbillies what a tyrannical government looks like bitches!"

Not to mention that his highest priority which was to preserve the Union has no Constitutional Basis and silence on such questions is reserved to the states or to the People by the Tenth Amendment.

It actually violates the Spirit of the Declaration of Independence which requires the consent of the governed in order to be legitimate.

100 percent this. The one absolute must be the sanctity of the constitution. Inviolable for any reason.

Please put NFA 1934 and GCA 1968 on the list.

From your anecdote it almost sounds like the guy is already expecting to have to take the rebellious route, but wanted to avoid it if possible. Must be pretty darn hard to be a cop right now.

Thanks for sharing!

I was a cop. If a chief is unable to put his foot down on tyranny he should vacate his post. The entire department should follow suit and then sue.

His response should be that enforcing such orders is a lower priority than the violations of other existing laws. Therefore he is exercising prioritization, not questioning color of authority.
