She is my hero. She refused to apologize, I wonder if she knew that by doing so and going to jail she'd be the one setting a precedent for this.

She absolutely knew she would get 7 days in jail. The judge told her to apologize or go to jail.

I think she was well aware that she was making a public statement.

He wanted her to say she was being selfish and melted down when she would not kiss the ring.

Dallas County Judge Eric Moye offered Luther the opportunity to avoid jail time if she apologized for being "selfish," paid a fine and shut her doors until Friday, when salons are permitted to resume business.

"I have to disagree with you, sir, when you say that I'm selfish, because feeding my kids is not selfish," Luther told Moye in response. "I have hairstylists that are going hungry because they would rather feed their kids. So sir, if you think the law is more important than kids getting fed, then please go ahead with your decision. But I am not going to shut the salon."

That's right. It wasn't just her. It was her employees, too, and she made sure to say that to that judge's MASKED face.

That judge is a dirty disgusting piece of shit. Compelled speech violates free speech rights. You can't make someone say something under threat of prison.

To add to this:

NEVER. APOLOGIZE.

They never accept the apology. In fact, they usually demand more after that. Never apologize.

This is the #1 lesson of the Trump political era.

I wouldn't say never apologize.. I mean, if you're a governor that enacted unconstitutional orders, you should probably apologize and cancel those orders immediately.. So yeah, I think there are times that it is appropriate to apologize.

But never apologize for doing the right thing.

It's a shame people forgot the beauty and effectiveness of simply telling such people to "piss off."
