I live in Texas and have since 1982 except for 1998 - 2001 . I was born and raised in the northern part of NY. Just south of the Canadian border. I moved back to NY. When I was told that my father was dying. Of lung cancer.. Anyways my father passed in 2001 and about 6 months later I had a chance to move back to Texas .. In 2014 i tried to renew my DELin Texas and was told that I had a hold on it for something in NY. And could not do any thing until getting it taken care of.
Come to find out because I left NY and did not turn in the plates on my truck that when. It became time for my plates to be renewed in Ny. They were not because I had it done in Texas where I lived. Come to find out since my plates had not been turned in they issued avwarrant. For my arrest fforDRIVING WITH OUT INSURANCE . When I called I was informed I had to pay them 25.00 to clean it up. And since I. Only had a week to get this done before my DL. expired. So that is how much of a crook they are.

Yikes, sorry to hear that, what a clusterfuck - similarly was swindled out of an expired parking meter ticket in NYC by a moving company that let the meter lapse, they charged me upfront for the full ticket, find out later they go down to city court and get a lower penalty in person, pocketing the difference.
Not the gov't directly screwing around with me, just a private company, but what difference, at this point, does it make?
