I'm thinking their excuse will be "We should do a teleconference debate, because muh Corona, muh safety, muh We're in this together!" Of course that means nothing, because to literally 99.999999% of all people in this country, everyone watches it on TV anyways, so there is no need for a teleconference debate where Biden and Trump are in different rooms. It doesn't matter if 2000 people see it in person.
But the dems and the MSM won't mention that, and their base won't bother thinking about it. So its gonna plastered "Trump wants to hold in person debate and endanger lives!!!!! Biden wants to hold a safe, teleconferenced debate, but Trump is not agreeing, that means he is refusing to debate Biden!!!!"
Of course if Trump agrees to a teleconference debate, then Biden will cheat and his team will use cue-cards, prompts, the internet, etc etc.

It's more than that. They're also trying to shield him from the very real rigors and strains of running an aggressive campaign for President. There's no WAY he's up for that task. We already saw him come unglued to be the nominee.
They're going to do everything possible to get Biden out of debating Trump.
