Couple of reasons. It has a nicer look than some of the sealants which have an orangeish hue. Sealants also make it harder to clean the next time and can stain the hull and house of the boat. We also have a large crew that is paid to maintain it.

The Festool is a handheld orbital sander. Nah, I couldn’t afford to fill the fuel tanks but gladly work for the man who can.

We keep it raw. Clean it every few months with 2-part or OxiClean. Sand it every 2 years.

I have 2 of the Rotex sander that I’ve been using for the past 12 years. Pricey, but built to last!
That’s a great one too! I use one of those to sand stair risers. Does a great job and makes quick work of it.
