With vote-by-mail, live humans no longer have representation in California. It's officially a dictatorship that we can do nothing about. Elon is right - time to move.

Yes there is always that one last option....

6
tombombadil 6 points ago +6 / -0

You gotta wait 6 months before you can execute that option in California.

Only issue will be creating a status of forces agreement to keep our Navy in the Pacific.

8

It won't be an issue at all.

The U.S. will still be the hegemon.

If we physically remove the Governors from Office all on the same day the rest of these pieces fall together pretty easily. We just have to pick the day and time, and it has to be well before November.

4
Bansjustprovemeright 4 points ago +4 / -0

National arrest you governor day? Call it July 4th?

1
CuomoisaMassMurderer 1 point ago +1 / -0

Lol I never thought of that. It's a National holiday! We'd better pick a day they're in Office though. Unless I'm wrong and the Governor's mansions are an easier target? Even so it'd be hard to know where they'll be on July 4. Most of them will be hiding from their own shadows, or at least telling us to.

Its easy for a company like his to move its HQ. Shit for the jobs lost but could for the jobs gained in another area.

The factors are another story. It would cost a lot of money and take a lot of time.

If the employees moved to the new state he moves to they'd probably be better off. Not getting financially raped by CA taxes and living costs.

Case Study of the State of CT: in 1985 it had more than 20 of the top Fortune 100 companies in the US and a 500million surplus in the state coffers. Fast forwards to today, 1 remains and most of the manufacturing has left the state. Taxation is the second highest in the nation and small businesses are disappearing daily. All this due to hefty liberal, green deal and quasi socialist Democrat policies. Yet, despite all of this, CT firmly remains a Blue state. Plenty of Pedes here, but every one knows the system is corrupt at best. Most would love to move but can't leave because they would either incur a huge loss on the house or are underwater on the mortgage. I applaud Elon for his choice, I would do exactly the same. What surprises me, is that more companies are not following his example.

2
CT_MAGA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Hello fellow CTPEDE. We can't leave due to the huge financial loss. Our gun rights are a joke. They are non stop trying to disarm us. The free shit army here is top notch. As much free shit as you want as long as you vote DEMORAT.

Now tolls we be almost guaranteed due to the pandemic. They will say that the money is needed for xyz and it will go to the free shit army or some useless initiative.

1
StarsandStripes4Ever 1 point ago +1 / -0

Hi @CT_MAGA !! You too see my daily frustration with the state... The incredible amount of tax money wasted, crumbling infrastructure and our rights taken from us. It is hard to believe that we live among one of the first states to take up arms in the revolution of 1776. Where has our spirit gone ?! You are 100% correct about what you write, our next tax will be tolls and God knows what next. After this Plandemic, when only a few of the businesses survive, I wonder where the state will find the badly needed money to fund its corrupt free shit initiative ? I worry it's going to get nasty... Stay strong fellow CTPEDE

22
Afeazo 22 points ago +25 / -3

Why Texas though? We have many great open states, like Wyoming, Nebraska, north and South Dakota, etc. All extremely cheap states, with amazing potential for younger workers. Homes can be purchased for under $100k, taxes very low, land very cheap, cost of living very low. We need to have companies move there that will incentivize younger people to move to these states. I’m not saying Texas is bad, not at all, it’s just that we focus so much on Texas we are forgetting other amazing states.

Always pissed me off when people my age say they are fucked because rent on a shitty apartment is $2,500 a month and a 3 bedroom single story home costs $1.5M, but refuse to listen when I point out areas where you can mortgage 5 homes for the price of their monthly rent on a “cheap” apartment. These are places where you can literally own a home while making minimum wage. I am blown away that more companies don’t move their factories there.

30
MissoulaWes1776 30 points ago +31 / -1

because texas subsidizes manufacturing, makes itself an attractive destination, has the infrastructure to ship by all means, and people like it.

11
XxxRDTPRNxxX 11 points ago +11 / -0

Yeah, I really don't think Elon Musk is going to have an easy time attracting the world's most talented people to move to Wyoming or Nebraska...

3
CuomoisaMassMurderer 3 points ago +5 / -2

Wyoming has GREAT places. Mountains and tremendous natural beauty

8
tombombadil 8 points ago +8 / -0

No one is saying that Wyoming isn’t gorgeous. The top of Mt Everest and the surface of the moon are also beautiful. That doesn’t mean they are a good place to build your company’s headquarters.

1
CuomoisaMassMurderer 1 point ago +1 / -0

WY is a bit inhospitable, but possibly less so than the surface of the moon or even the bottom of Everest. It'd be interesting to see how the people of WY would react to the idea. Generally they don't mind tourists coming and leaving their money behind, but want you to leave. Would that change? I don't think we'd really know unless Musk tried it. I don't think he will. TX and maybe another State or two seem far more likely to me. I do expect SD to see a boom either before this is all over or in the wake of the crisis, but wouldn't expect to see Tesla there either.

6
Friendly_B 6 points ago +6 / -0

Geez the wind though. It's arguably the most beautiful state if you can open your eyes to see it.

1
CuomoisaMassMurderer 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'd love to ride kites on skis and use that wind to propel me UP mountains :)

The Dakotas are windy too!

Wooooaahhh woah woah. Thanks to Tesla being a wet dream for these liberal nutjobs, they turned northern Nevada into a hot spot for these brain dead maggot liberals. This place hasn't been the same since! So many fucking raging looney tunes that came here, still coming and fucked up our elections. Please pick another state! Why do you think we are in this mess!!

Shitty thing is, Elon is doing what the libtards already did. In a couple short years TX will do to him what CA is doing now

7
FreedomFromGovt 7 points ago +7 / -0

Nope. We just shot down a state-wide referendum on an income tax. Besides, Texas legislature only meets every other year--less time for mischief. As long as oil & gas corporations like National Oilwell Varco, Halliburton, etc., existing tech like HP, Texas Instruments, etc., and NASA-Houston are here, Tesla will be safe. It'll be safe as long as Elon doesn't start any fuckery of his own.

Hell, even 'In-N-Out' Burger left its home state of CA and moved to TX.

1
CuomoisaMassMurderer 1 point ago +2 / -1

Asking the important questions: do they say "all y'all" in CA?

WV has "yins." Never heard "fuck yins" though

15
Tarded 15 points ago +15 / -0

I mean. It sucks for the workers, to be sure. However, if you know what even SMALL businesses in CA have to go through for their employees, you would be shocked that there are any businesses even there.

If he stays, the chances that CA will pull his business down and make him downsize are real, and at least this way he will be able to keep a workforce.

They got the government they deserve.
