The only reason the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are not officially considered war crimes is because the authorities set up to define and charge those crimes were headed by the USSR, Britain and the USA.
To be fair with the bombs they did end up saving millions of lives, as horrible as using them was, the ground invasion of Japan would have been much bloodier and I doubt japan would have been in the shape it is in today afterwards. There was a legitimate fear entire towns would commit suicide. The other things ya that’s pretty bad, but I wouldn’t rope the bombs into it, he saved countless lives with that one.
