Apart from Jussie Smolliet's fake "hate crime" hoax, have you heard anything about the near-1000 people fatally shot in Chicago this year? (Inb4 reeee, it will be over 1000 in a few weeks.)

I have listened to Chicago Police-radio a few times, it really is a war zone. Hearing those calls coming in so fast and furious you get a true sense of how overwhelmed they are, the dispatchers' job sounds as stressful as an air-traffic controller.
I have flown through Chicago on my way elsewhere, so all I have seen is the boarding-zones at O'Hare. From what I have seen online, the nicer parts of Chicago look to be a wealthy bustling modern city, more so than I expected considering the news reports. (As I understand it, the bulk of the shootings/violence are mostly confined to the low-rent/high-crime part of town.)
It may seem that I'm poking fun of the Chicago murder rate in my previous postings but I'm really not (I've been tracking this for some time now.) It's more that I'm aghast at the magnitude, not just the violence but the unbelievably incompetent/corrupt local government/police. If you read any random entry at the Second City Cop blog, you will find a Babylon Bee-level of WTF. One might think these stories of criminal-coddling and administrative misbehavior/incompetence are made up, but sadly no.

I am very impressed with the way they examine the statistics and compare them to past trends. The site appears to be updated frequently, sometimes when I'm writing a post on Chicago crime the shooting/homicide numbers rise before I hit "send." (Of course this is to be expected, before Our President took office the stats were much worse: a shooting every 2 hours on average, with a homicide every 11 hours.)
Also interesting: normally, numbers of this magnitude result in MSM clickbait headlines about a "mass shooting." National MSM ignores these incidents, because it contradicts their Leftist Agenda narratives. We are currently seeing a Trayvon Martin-style "news cycle" claiming an innocent "jogger" was killed for sport by White Supremacists, while ignoring/dismissing the "jogger's" history of gun crime/probation violation and his matching the description/apparel of the culprit of recent burglary/property crime in the area (and... the hammer/"fitness mallet" he was reportedly armed with.)
If the predictable rioting occurs as usual after the verdict is announced for the men accused of defending themselves, that "news cycle" may continue for weeks. As it is, "Ahmaud Arbery" has barged into our lexicon and the false narrative misrepresenting his death will be used as a convenient DNC/Leftist Talking Point from now on.
However: earlier this year, 7 people were shot in Chicago in a single incident. 6 people were shot in a separate incident. In 2 other incidents, 5 were shot (per incident.) In 2 others, 4 were shot (per incident.) Normally, a "mass shooting" is defined as 4 or more shot in a single incident. Have we heard anything from MSM about 6 separate "mass shootings" in Chicago this year? Nope! They were too busy "reporting" and/or backpedaling from Jussie Smolliet's disintegrating "hate crime" hoax narrative, and now they are distracting with the Georgia self-defense shooting narrative.
Allow me to correct you; the MSM isn't a source of information, they are propaganda propagators. I'm sure you're well aware of this fact, I just don't want anyone reading foolishly thinking otherwise.
I was impressed as well with the clarity of his/her presentation and timeliness of information. Very well formatted, so that even the most biased person, should he so choose to investigate, could get s very clear picture of the reality on the ground (and under, pun intended).
Like you said, and as my point was, the MSM are propagandists, so they only care about whatever fills their agenda. It's about setting the tone and controlling the narrative. To hell with anything that is to the contrary. The headlines are about maximum effect. How else are they going to successfully propagandize! It is therefore I refuse to click on any of their sites, and why we need to use archive websites, like archive.is in order not to give them the clicks/traffic/redirects.
They will push such rioting as it fuels their agenda and keeps them in the conversation. The best we can do is ignore them, and have our own agenda to counter offensive narrative (always on offense never on defense, the Trump doctrine).
It's pointless to harp on all these stories they clearly ignore, unless in a genuine debate with someone whom there is a chance to influence. The left doesn't care, they do it on purpose; knowingly. The MSM will report false deceptive information with impunity, regardless of the facts, facts they know to be true (are there other kinds of facts? Alternative facts?). They are frightened of Trump because they know he's got them beat. He's got them wrapped around his wiener. It's why they're slinging shit everywhere. It's a childish temper tantrum. Time to put in time-out.

The Chicago Homicide Clearance Rate for 2019 was 12.2%. That means approximately 88% of homicide cases went cold with no suspect charged. This is not such a surprise considering the Chicago Police superintendent was forced to resign after being caught passed-out drunk in his car. Between the "snitches get stitches" code of "honor" in the hood and the courts' tendency to plead major offenses down to a wrist-slap (leading to more gun crime as those gun criminals hit the streets unpunished) it's an appalling situation.
