As I see it, a big problem is that there is too long a period from the crime to the punishment. Dirtbag commits a murder, 25 years later there a little column about a murderer being executed. Not enough people see the cause and effect and don't learn from it. I don't want to see an innocent person executed, but if there is absolutely no doubt that he did it, after a speedy trial, take him out back of the court house and hang him, put it on pay per view, and give the proceeds to the victims family.
