Do people actually just go walking into houses under construction? What the fuck were these people taught. I don’t even walk through someone’s yard without permission or a close personal relationship with the owner.
We did the same growing up, and I never thought anything of it. There were never any tools left behind that I remember and it was just a shell of a house with no door. They were fresh new neighborhoods being built right down the street from us and we wanted to see what they looked like before anyone started moving in. I still don’t think there’s necessarily anything wrong with it. It may technically be trespassing, but there was no door, they were still owned by the building company at that point and there were no “keep out” signs.

Yes. Some do it to steal stuff. Kids do it because they are kids. Adults will sometimes do it out of curiosity. Neighbors will check out a new house to see what is being chosen.
When my house was being built we had all kinds of people walking in to see what it would look like. Of course that was a development and the builder left the house unlocked during the day for the various contractors.
Sure. I did it with a few houses being built in my neighborhood. It was fascinating to see, and it's not illegal. I obviously didn't steal anything, I was just looking around. It's kinda like exploring abandoned places. Same kinda vibe.
It has to be posted properly, which it rarely is on home construction sites. It's extremely common and they don't care, as long as you're not moving stuff or stealing. The company that built my house said "Your neighbors will go into the house during construction" in a 'don't get mad if they do' kinda way. Though, this kinda thing depends on the state, so, YMMV.

Your mom should have had you guys in sports and had more to do with her time.
I'm sorry to hear that. That's rough.

Are you sure trespassing is not illegal?

That make sense. Thanks.
