19,000?!?!? to rodent proof a home? Surely with a little research and labor you could resolve this problem much cheaper. That sounds like highway robbery unless I'm missing something important.
Look into Ultrasonic Pest Repellents before you drop that $19,000. My Dad has had a rodent problem for well over 10 years fixing rat traps and glue traps with peanut butter. He decided to purchase some of the ultrasonic repellents last month and has reported that none of his traps have been messed with. He usually gets a kill every 2 days and said he hasn't even had a trap trip in over 2 weeks. Unless you have as many rodents as the Pied Piper, I would suggest trying out different methods of extermination before dropping that much money to solve a rodent issue.
You are getting taken. Get some more quotes and also look around your house for some self help. We realized a contractor whi put olin a box bay window did not connect it to the corner of the house properly and created the Appian Way for all neughborhood rodents. We had to pull up our deck and patch the hole ourselves but it did the trick for basement rats. We did have to hire a company to put screens over our attic vents which was less thsn 5k and seemed to solve the roof rats and flying squirrel problem. Good luck.
