Gotta say, that is pretty normal for people to do as many have pointed out. I don’t do it, but I remember my dad always would when I was a kid and our neighborhood was being developed. He was always fascinated to see how things were progressing. Sometimes the builder would even walk in on him and would strike up a conversation. They never were mad that he was in there. In fact they would usually show him around because they were excited to show off what they were building.
