We don't really have a choice in papal politics. Your average Catholipede disagrees with all the crazy things that Pope Francis says (and allegedly said according to his atheist journalist friend) but we can't label him an antipope and all that unless there's a declaration in the Church in the future.
He has condoned idolatry and heresies, but because he is definitely the pope formally (if not materially) we still have certain obligations of respect towards him as the Holy Father. Just rest assured that we are more aggrieved by His Holiness than you are.
I take it in the same way as in Return of the Jedi, Luke addressed the Emperor as "your highness" even as he was trying to destroy his regime.
