Californian, can confirm. As the Bay went further left, we only got more taxes. Right now we are literally covered in drugged up / crazy homeless people, who are flocking in from all around because we won’t arrest them or prosecute them. Petty theft is now legal because they won’t prosecute it. Up to $950ish. Walgreens is threatening to pull out because people keep walking in with trash bags and stealing and walking right out to sell it around the corner. Attorney General won’t prosecute them because “we need new, innovative solutions to these problems,” him basically calling on tech folks to ‘come up with something here’. Really.
Meanwhile up the high rises out here, most people are immigrants. I’m okay with legal immigrants and like them, but I can see the argument against them based on living here. Not even the illegals, as that’s a flat out no from me, but with what foreign money did to the Bay. Chinese and Indian money bought up all the housing and jacked up the prices. If you get one of them in a firm, which you will because of diversity hiring, they’ll instantly only hire their racial friends and won’t integrate with the rest. There are plenty of cool Chinese and Indian people out here, many that are second or third generation, but they’ll all tell you the same thing, and tend to be in the minority. Foreign money bought up the Bay Area, pushed for and allowed by stupid far left bullshit being taken advantage of.
Despite being someone that likes legal immigrants, I can’t think of anything positive they have done for my area. Foreign money just ruined it and drove people out, and the ruling powers just encourage it and laugh about it.
Used to live and work in the bay area and can confirm. All of the Indians and Asians I worked with were super cliquey and would barely even talk to you except to say hello. Most of them were very hard workers who did a good job, but imagine working a shift with half of the staff being Indian and gathering in their little groups and rattling off in their language and never even acknowledging your presence. Fucking annoying.
Another problem people have with them too is that most of them aren’t rock stars or anything. Most of them aren’t any better than someone from America at that job, they just didn’t hire an American for diversity hire reasons and because one of their racial friends was involved in hiring people. Even Asians I know that are patriotic and born in America hate them because they don’t consider them ‘real Asian’ and won’t hire them over people from other countries. If you get someone from say China on top of that, they hate all the other kinds of Asian people and will weed them out in favor of their from China bro’s.
They’re all basically colonizing the Bay. They’re not friendly, either, and still act like they’re in China if from there. You can’t even talk to them on the street. They consider it like a grave social violation. They’ll outright pretend they don’t know you until they need something. Then you’re dead to them again after. They’re not sending their best.
The reason why Asians and Indians are even in a big majority in CA is due to "Muh Free Trade". NAFTA and other government sponsored Free Trade Agreements have allowed corporations to jocky for more HB-1 Visas.
These companies then pay spergs like Shaprio or think tanks spouting Free Trade is good. Only for said companies to say "Americans wouldnt take these jobs".
Take away Free trade and problem solves itself for the most part.
