I find it hilarious watching all the terrified people wearing masks, constantly touching readjusting the masks, then taking them off and throwing them on the front seat of the car or in a purse and put in the same mask back on Next time they go inside a building. Do they not realize that completely defeats any purpose of wearing a mask as you have now cross contaminated everything?
The virus doesnt last that long on most surfaces so if there is any contamination it is temporary and as long as you wash hands or use sanitizer after touching something that may be infected, it's not a big deal. And just because a virus can be detected on a surface doesn't mean that it's enough to infect somone.
In my state the masks are often required in stores. Not everyone who wears one is "terrified". I wear a motorcycle helmet even though there is little chance I'll get into an accident. I do not wear mine out of fear, but precaution.
