I hope the crazy bastard pushes through a MAGA mode software update! Red white and blue interior lights and the horn honks to the tune of "CNN is fake news".

Just in time for cybertruck.

Afeazo 13 points ago +13 / -0

The cyber truck is seriously no joke, it’s a genuine masterpiece of American engineering. It’s a pickup truck that not only can tow more than a base model F-350, but it can do 0-60 in the same time as a $120,000 Corvette ZR1. In addition, the body is so durable you can hit it with a metal bat and it will barely even scratch. For a truck that costs under $70k.

I will be very surprised if it doesn’t become extremely popular in the truck fan or blue collar workforce. Imagine using your work truck to haul roofing materials or concrete all day getting beat up then after work taking it to the track and smoking somebody’s Lamborghini Huracán lmao. I personally think it’s ugly, but would buy it just for performance.

Plus with how big Tesla’s batteries need to be, they might even be able to completely eliminate the need for a generator on job sites as the Tesla might be able to power all the needed tools. All I can say is Tesla has an insane opportunity with this vehicle, hopefully they can pull it off.

If you want an electric truck that's nice, Nikola Motor Company's full size pickup at least looks like a real truck: https://nikolamotor.com/badger

No vehicles in production. Their initial tech was hydrogen which Toyota did decades ago and failed. Does it not make you wonder why these guys got major backing and attention in the last 6 months without having a single product?

2
Rugar22 2 points ago +2 / -0

They are still building the plant in Arizona so it's gonna be awhile.

2
Afeazo 2 points ago +2 / -0

This thing does look a lot better than the Cybertruck. I’m curious as to how reliable the hydrogen fuel cell is? They do exist in cars, but they are no where near as popular as full electric so I’m wondering why that is. But from everything else from specs to price it looks like it’s almost identical to the Tesla.

Can't afford one lol, REALLY won't be able to afford one once I get laid off in July when PPP runs out...

But yeah, pretty cool guy. Cool cars.

Trumpican -6 points ago +7 / -13

They are garbage compared to similarly priced cars.

Go get yourself a Lexus that is 1 year old and it will drive affordably for 10 yeas at a 1/4 of the cost.

11
TrumpsWall 11 points ago +12 / -1

Tesla’s are amazing cars. I have a model 3 that cost in the mid 30s with rebates. No other car of that price range comes close to its features. I love it.

Trumpican 0 points ago +2 / -2

let's chat again in 3 years and see what changes.

I had an S and at 3 year ownership, I ended up starting to hate the car. They are wasteful and the used market is non-existent for the most part, making them highly unsustainable.

They are a trophy car used to highlight the fact that you drive a Tesla, and aside from acceleration, they are garbage cars.

bouki 10 points ago +12 / -2

A used Lexus would certainly be more affordable and is a very nice car, but nothing is more fun to drive than a Tesla...

8
Modus_Pwninz 8 points ago +10 / -2

I'm sure they're not built the fanciest or anything. The batteries and motors alone in those things are like 3/4 the cost of the entire car. It's sort of a limiting factor.

Also Lexus is jap-owned.

Buy a Ford.

So buying things we can't afford is rational now? Mmmkay...

How about no, i'm not gonna be dumb and buy something I can't afford.

3
Comntrinchief 3 points ago +3 / -0

I was joking. Of course you shouldn’t do that.

1
Rugar22 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'd still rather buy an older Mustang. I like my muscle cars with sound still. Probably gonna get a 2014 Mustang GT and get a louder exhaust for it.

9
Comntrinchief 9 points ago +10 / -1

I had a Model X for 3 years and bought a Hyundai in December. Now that Elon is based I plan to buy a Model Y this Fall. Global Warming is the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on humanity but there is nothing like driving a Tesla. It makes driving fun again. If you ever get the chance to do it don’t pass it up.

Woah... what was that, Mabel?

I'm a muscle car guy so i'm still attached to my Mustangs.

I bought one in August. Absolutely love it.

I don’t give two shits about carbon emissions, going green, etc. It is a really cool product, and a unique way to drive- an activity I enjoy and do daily.

If Elon can make a product to win over someone like me, he must be doing a good job. Forget the stigma created by weirdo fanboys, it’s a great vehicle.

1
tgwbd 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't give two shits about carbon emissions either, but as an asthmatic living in the Bay Area it's been nice not to have so much localized stagnant air pollution from everyone else's cars during this shut down.

I bought a Tesla years ago because I could afford to do so and my Model S is hands down the most fun car I've ever driven. I also felt at the time that even though I am very skeptical of the carbon emission theory it would be nice to stop emitting localized pollutants that are clearly not good for my health.

I realized that on that front, I had been contributing the problem and I had the means to stop doing that.

I would never force anyone to lay out money they can't afford, but if it is within your means to do so I would encourage you to strongly consider Tesla because at the end of the day it's about each of us doing what we, personally, feel is going to move the world forward and make it a better place for all of us.

It’s actually genius. Use the left’s agenda to make money. Oh, and driving a Tesla is the funnest thing you can do on a highway.

They build some of their cars in China too.

Never liked the idea of an electric car.. but if they figure out something great like solid state batteries are in theory I think they'll become ubiquitous.
