He’s not starting non profits started under the veil of “charity” out of the kindness of his heart. Someone is paying him to do it, just like when he was a kid. And he doesn’t have all the time in the world to set up 100s of distabilizing non profits in dozens of different languages with dozens of different legal systems. It would take a team. A very big very sophisticated team. And I’m inclined to believe that there just aren’t that many bad really smart people in this world. The only way he could do something like this and not have a hundred whistle blowers is if a totalitarian country was making people do it.
It's not that they are powerful per se, by rather I think most of us, as a society, put way too much faith in a system, in "authorities", and we want to because ultimately we don't want responsibility.
We want these institutions to be capable of more than they really can or should be, and with these massive gaps in what people expect/want institutions to do vs what they are actually capable of doing, evil people swoop in and exploit that.
