I'm checking for labels and origins now. On my desk right now is my shiny new Rubik's Cube, which I still suck at, its packaging declaring "Made in Taiwan."
Not quite made in America, but still an enemy of the enemy, which can be good enough for now.
Not made in Chyna is the short-term goal, but I think we need to have a longer-term outlook.
For example, all the production that's moved to Pakistan and India is just setting us up for similar problems 20-30 years down the road. We need to think strategically and bring back as much of our important production as possible. Foreign companies providing the parts for our infrastructure or necessary goods shouldn't even be an option.
Not that much production has moved to India, and it won't unless they make major changes. Their court system is corrupt, they have too many regulations (Federal, State and local), and their infrastructure is shit.
Especially hand tools. The tool manufacturers in Taiwan have much more time invested in the production of forged hand tools, many US tool brands have had Taiwan tool manufacturing for years on their entry level tools. That said, I still try to buy American-made tools first. Some great American tools are made by Wright Tool (Barberton, OH), Vaughan (Hebron, IL), Morse (Canton, OH), Klein Tools (Chicago, IL), S-K Professional Tools (Sycamore, IL), and Armstrong as well as Proto Industrial Tools. Some of these manufacturers do also get some items made overseas, but the Country of Origin (CoO) is usually printed somewhere on the packaging, or they use a different brand name for those items.
Needed a tool for the yard and there was only one brand at the store. Turned it over to make sure it wasn't Chinese garbage and it said "Made in Taiwan." Smiled all the way to the checkout lane.
As a somewhat fashion conscious female, I'm not seeing a lot of brands on the list that I'd like, unfortunately. However, I'd be happy to purchase items that are NOT made in China. I wonder if such a list exists?
There's always some great cottage industry designers, I found some really well made and beautiful items via people making and selling their own designs on Etsy, and you can sort by country there.
Do you like designer-priced gypsy style clothing? Back in late 1990s, when I could afford it, I bought some Anna Konya pieces from a boutique store in Palm Springs. (Where I worked at the time, we had a trade account with this boutique, so I got a boutique discount.) I still have them.
The boutique owner said the designer, Anna Konya, makes one-of-a-kind, high-quality designs, which she sells in boutiques across the U.S. Her site is annakonyadesigns.com which tells about her and her clothing line. I've also seen some of her clothing sold secondhand on eBay.
Big question is if it lasts more then one season. You buy most shirts now from China and after a season of washing they just start disintegrating. Also doesn't help most of the clothes are so thin you can see through now. So $25 every year, or $50 shirt that will last me many years I'll take that.
Yeah I don't care about tariff's anymore. Forget this trade war, we're beyond that as a remedy now. What we need is a trade cut off. The whole of China needs to be cut off from the rest of the world; nothing in, nothing out. Including the internet and all other communications. Cut all the lines of telecommunications to China. Make it so they can't even so much as make a landline phone call. Disable GPS from being used over China too. Send them back to the stone age and let them wallow in their own filth and misery. That's how you beat China.
The CCP would collapse within 10 years (maybe within months) and China would come out begging to be allowed to participate in the world again, and would accept any conditions placed on them.
GPS can actually be actively denied selectively. We just don't do that. It can also be actively limited in its accuracy, as the US used to reserve high accuracy for military purposes only.
From GPS.gov:
"Doesn't the government degrade civilian GPS accuracy?
No. During the 1990s, GPS employed a feature called Selective Availability that intentionally degraded civilian accuracy on a global basis. In May 2000, at the direction of President Bill Clinton, the U.S. government ended its use of Selective Availability in order to make GPS more responsive to civil and commercial users worldwide. The United States has no intent to ever use Selective Availability again."
See how there's leftist assurances to foreigners in there? "The US has no intent to ever use selective availability again".
The US spends 2 millions dollars a day to operate the global GPS network. And the rest of the world gets it for free. Another gift to China, by Bill "the rapist" Clinton. And that's just the operating costs right now of satellites already in orbit. The costs are far higher once you consider the construction and launch of all those satellites and other infrastructure.
This is also why countries like Russia have been setting up their own limited GPS, because they know if there was ever a war, the US could actively deny them GPS access, which would absolutely ruin their ability to fight back. But they're also expensive to setup and operate, and it's a hard pill to swallow when they're already getting GPS for free.

Fuck CCP
It's a disgrace that the democratic Western nations allowed communist dictatorship China to become the 2nd largest economy. A fucking disgrace to all those who fought for democracy and all we value.
I hear you. If it's an international meeting you owe it to your guests to put their flag EQUAL, it's agreeable to all parties to have flags be equal. But one over the other is disrespectful to one side. it's easier and fair to just have flags at equal heigh on this one.
I'm a maple sucker and at least our country still gets this shit correctly. Our flag rules are basically same as USA. Federal and foreign flags on equal level OR federal flag highest, and provincial flags are below federal flag.
Going to disagree with you here. The Japanese earned those nukes and were right bastards to their neighbors for decades. But they've been pretty docile since, eh?
This seems to be more about China trying to hoard commodities and possibly fuck over Australia, than it is about them flinching. The Chinese can be devious bastards.
Aussie here, they are trying to fuck over Australia for sure. Their virus has seriously hurt our economy and now they are putting trade sanctions on us.
I agree, it certainly seems like lifting these tariffs are aimed at hurting Australia rather than a flinch.
This is exactly what I thought when I read it too. They shouldn't get these highly valuable materials that the US could use itself for making our own electronics and such. They can have pork, rice, soy, whatever we have in excess that they need to run China for their own people, but no more propping their global industries up until we have our economy back. The one that they keep doing everything to destroy.
The amount of tech knowledge and IP their government has encouraged to be stolen over the years is also disgusting. Oh and end their "developing world" postal rate inequality scam too.
They should fear GEOTUS AND the American people who are SICK of their shit. They couldn't just be reciprocal and make a deal and work with us to a new mutually beneficial future. They overplayed their hand hoping to cuck us, when it failed, they released the virus. They must be crushed by any means necessary, anything less means our eventual doom.
Absolute best case scenario; It was a commie-oopsie like Chernobyl but they put it to good use by hiding it/lying about it/manipulating WHO/Dems/Globalists to help it spread.
Worst case scenario: 100% planned and coordinated. Completely within the CCP character to do this as well.
Unfortunately for them, it’s going to get a lot fucking worse after Trump wins 2020. They had their chance. They intentionally tried to destroy the world economy. Fuck them.
No one is more eager for President Trump to be out of office than these dirty bastards. This is likely just to buy them some time hoping he's voted out in November.
Well that's swell but I really don't care. Japan and other nations have made decoupling from China a priority for national security. They're not wrong. Japan in particular have poured an amount similar to our 'infusions' into paying companies to move their factories right the fuck now.
We should be leading this - not following - but I'll take following and overtaking if need be.
GTFO of China. Now. And start rounding up all the infiltrators and shut down their assortment of schemes that have the MSM and others in the grips of the CCP. Full on Cold War protocols - no quarter. This is Cold War II. It's time to shut this shit down.
We have no idea how "infused" with China we really are, I think. Another story this morning about an Arkansas professor, Chinese national, picked up for not declaring foreign agent status and taking money from NASA. How the hell can you be a foreign agent and be a professor at our universities? They have gonna full art of war on us, infiltrate, weaken with sickness, weaken economy, propaganda, all the signs point to them prepping for an invasion. https://www.foxnews.com/us/arkansas-professor-allegedly-hid-china-ties-to-secure-nasa-grant-money
To your point: how can they own our land? I mean at least college is something you can choose to go to or not. When they come here and buy real estate, my goodness what bullshit.
That's not a flinch, that's playing the long game. The communists are operating on a 200 year plan. They're not looking at whether Trump wins reelection, they're looking at what they can get away with under whatever spineless coward will be in office in ten years, or twenty. They will fade from the headlines, we will go back to our apathy and they will inevitably eat us alive from the inside out.
We need more lions like Trump. But how many Great Men can you expect in a lifetime? So much of Trump's time is spent fixing the mistakes for all the past failures that progress is greatly hindered. This cycle could repeat indefinitely between great figures--and even then, not even every great potential leader can necessarily get office. Mail in ballots, etc., they're working hard to assure this ever happens again.
Good question. About 3 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall I was complaining about this and nobody gave a shit. I was pretty far left back then and none of my lefty friends gave one shit even though they were (at that time) all about human rights and anti-surveillance. I guess cheap shit at Walmart won the day.
Aren’t ‘rare and valuable’ minerals like that used in electronics?
So, since sane people expect this virus nonsense to be over by 2021, this is really just a give to foreign manufacturers to try and keep as many in the country until it all blows over.
China is currently trying to destroy Australia all because we want an investigation into their bat virus and how they spread it everywhere. Like everywhere their virus has seriously harmed our economy, now they are adding trade sanctions on us just for asking for an investigation.
You got it exactly. I'll get more specific and say it is Trump that is a huge help in all this. If Clinton was elected that cunt would have sold out Australia to the Chinese already.
Thank God for Trump and thank God for you Pedes that elected him.
There's no "flinch" about it. Read the article: "The latest list waives tariffs on products including ores of rare earth metals, gold ores, silver ores and concentrates." All they are doing is making it easier for themselves to import raw materials they need from us. NO rare earths or precious metals should leave the US for Chy-nuh, not one damned ounce.
Tables turned on China and it knows it that’s why it KungFlu’d the US; anyone following this knows that, the timing was all too perfect right after it looses trade war with Trump and impeachment hearings wrap up the virus on queue pops up.
China is doing it with help of deepstate msm apparatus because it had setup its infrastructure and economy to run and maintain itself on one way screw jobs setup by former admins; it didn’t foresee trump and the undoing of the decades of shitty trade deals; so now that the trade deals are more fair and even; its economy has a grim future, it bit off way more than it could handle if anyone undid the trade deals and stopped the flow of cash to keep it going; so that’s why they are doing what they are doing, pretty much knows it’s glory days are soon to be over, this stuff is like death throws; it’s infrastructure was reliant to survive on constant flow of siphoned us cash; China is a paper tiger.
I don't know about you, but I'm not satisfied with a "flinch." I want them to squeal and squirm. I want wailing and gnashing from those commie bastards.
China has never been our ally. We need to bring back manufacturing to the US. It will help us move forward as a nation and put more people to work that are living off welfare.
Can we get a petition or bill introduced that would force online retailers to publish country of origin for each product sold? If I could get my hands on the goods, I could easily look on the label/packaging, but it is impossible to do online, especially at Amazon.
I agree, this is needed badly. I started adding "Made in the USA" to the end of my searches on Amazon, and the amount of descriptions written in bad, broken English that say "Sold by the US seller!" is unreal.
This is good news. Let's continue our boycott. I say we march on down to the docks and smash everything Chinese. Who's with me? Let me get my tricornered hat!
Communist China has infiltrated almost all of our media companies, our production/manufacturing companies, our politicians, our schools, our entertainment sector, our medicine.
The invisible enemy is China...in conjunction with the deep state and the trillionaires.
Conflict with China is not about tariffs, it is about protecting America (and hence the world) from an evil political party that is nothing more than a less racist version of the Nazi state apparatus (communist state capitalism).
There is absolutely no positive outcome possible by being able to sell pork and soyabeans or jet engines or missiles or computers or cellphones or whatever to a such a nazi state, whose final aim is to create their own version of "Lebensraum" over the entire world.
Can any pedes verify, I know China has a near monopoly on rare earth elements right now. Is that geologically true or is it just in terms of production and mining?
Production and mining, rare earths are not rare. China dumped product at under cost so the mines elsewhere were not profitable and so they closed. They do that trick constantly to corner as many markets as they can.
Ty! I figured it was a matter of production and not abundance. Especially when my liberal friends were losing their minds and saying how fucked we'd be without China.
I've noticed every day Americans are fed up with the Chinese. There is a huge anti-CCP sentiment among my co-workers, many of whom are die hard liberals.
We were talking about having something manufactured and I had jokingly said "I know a guy in China" and the whole room exploded with "Fuck China" "It'll fall apart" "Not even the Plexiglas should be made in China!" "We shouldn't use a single screw made in China, send it to the mid west! We'll pay for a quality product!"
I was very surprised to see the sheer resentment and it was unanimous ...
Lmao, no, can't turn the mirror on them that quick. They'll be scared and retreat into shitlib sanctuary. What I did instead was reinforce the idea we should buy American and tariff the shit out of them.
It'll get them supporting Trump's "trade war" and later I can reinforce how he's been right about China all along.
I know, baby steps are the key... They have to believe that they arrived there on their own, the nudges we give have to be subconscious. My comment was more of a dig at my personal lack of patience.
I have been going out of my way to buy American after all this crap started. Sometimes I pay more, but surprisingly, sometimes I do not. The American products are almost always better quality, which means that even if I'm paying more, I'm only paying once, not twice or three times.
I looove telling people about my can opener story. I went through can openers about once or twice a month for about a year. All of 'em chinese. Kept breaking one way or another. Wa about 6-7 years ago now? I bought ONE American can opener. Paid less than $10 for it. I probably spent close to $50 on all those chinese ones. Buying American can be cheaper in so many different ways, most people aren't smart enough to add.
Anyone around the world who is currently cheering about our economy dying will NOT be cheering in the future, I guarantee it. When Americans don't have money to buy shit, other countries will feel it. Take that to the bank!
China backing down on anything might be the best piece of news I've seen all day. The last I heard from them was that they were on an increasingly aggressive footing, trying to prevent backlash from the Wuhan virus.
Cancel the trade deal with China.. and keep increasing the tariffs 5% every month until it reaches 300% or so.. to give companies time to pull out of China completely.
Of course they did. They're all bark and no bite when it comes to us. I'm more concerned that we'll still end up at war with them because of their constant expansionist claims. They're not on good terms with any of their neighbors and they'll push it too far. They'll fuck with one of our nearby allies like India, Japan, or Australlia just a little too much, and then we'll have to step in and fuck them up.
Demand equal country of origin marks on digital sold products now! Makes mo sense that the box has to contain the country of origin but the online description does not.
I'm checking for labels and origins now. On my desk right now is my shiny new Rubik's Cube, which I still suck at, its packaging declaring "Made in Taiwan."
Not quite made in America, but still an enemy of the enemy, which can be good enough for now.
I'm fine with things made in Taiwan. Most of the time the products are good and worth the money.
Made in USA is still at the top of the list, but that's not always an option (yet).
Not made in Chyna is the short-term goal, but I think we need to have a longer-term outlook.
For example, all the production that's moved to Pakistan and India is just setting us up for similar problems 20-30 years down the road. We need to think strategically and bring back as much of our important production as possible. Caliphate is ALL muslims endgoal.
(yet)
Not that much production has moved to India, and it won't unless they make major changes. Their court system is corrupt, they have too many regulations (Federal, State and local), and their infrastructure is shit.
Sounds like China 30-40 years ago until they realized how well the SEZ worked and changed things to move mainland.
But companies are looking at moving things to India now. Apple, for example, is talking about moving additional production there.
Some medicines and components for meds come from India. We need to pull pharmaceutical manufacturing back to USA.
Once upon a time US pharmaceutical companies had manufacturing factories in Puerto Rico. Once it became cheaper to do so in China PR fell into ruin.
Try buying your kids some stuffed toys. I haven't seen one that wasn't Made In China for years,
Made in USA is top priority. Canada is second (since our economies are so intertwined) UK, Taiwan, Japan, SK and Europe are next after that.
China is a last resort and even then I'll try and buy used first.
Thanks! I was actually in need of some new clothes.
Thedonald.win should really have a permenant sticky or something where it lists companies like this that are on the maga agenda
Here you go Pede https://www.madeinamerica.co/pages/thelist
You’re the real hero here fren.
As a somewhat fashion conscious female, I'm not seeing a lot of brands on the list that I'd like, unfortunately. However, I'd be happy to purchase items that are NOT made in China. I wonder if such a list exists?

$50 is a little whack for a gd flannel, but so be it.
Why is that whack?
I'm just frugal lol.
Big question is if it lasts more then one season. You buy most shirts now from China and after a season of washing they just start disintegrating. Also doesn't help most of the clothes are so thin you can see through now. So $25 every year, or $50 shirt that will last me many years I'll take that.
Target is mini-Chyna also.
I remember when Sam Walton bragged about his American sourcing. Then he retired. Business school graduates took over and - The ROT starts at the TOP.
Hmm...kind of around the time the governor of Arkansas was elected POTUS. Weird!
Yeah I don't care about tariff's anymore. Forget this trade war, we're beyond that as a remedy now. What we need is a trade cut off. Because they're used in various electronic devices that we buy from them?
China dumped rare earths on us until our mines shut down. So i think the intention is to fire up our mines by giving them a big market
First: Because they're in China.
Second: I agree fully. Cut 'em off.
Great ! China just deliberately killed thousands of our people, put 30 million of us out of work and wrecked our economy.
But they are going to waive a few tariffs ! What a relief ! Let's call it even and move on.
We should hold the hard line and demand a free fortune cookie though.
You had me at free fortune cookie.

Ban most others too, but ban China.
China should have never been allowed in, China must now be kicked out.
China is for the Chinese. They don't get to have everywhere else as well.
This isn't just one big scam by China yet again?
When you are killing off the world and destroying all economies, of course you want to bring in all the gold and silver.
Gold ore is half the price it was back in July 2019. Grab it all now, hoard it, win the game.

I guess cheap shit at Walmart won the day.
If HRC had won, we would be doing business with Iran, too. I toast GEOTUS every morning for making sure that did not happen!
Can't bomb us with canned corn like you can with Uranium.
We must eliminate the CCP.
The latest list of tariff free goods includes rare and valuable metals like gold silver but there goods like soybean
Trade annually will increase from roughly 200 billion in purchases from the USA to 273 billion this year to 323 billion next year
The tariffs waiver expires end of 2021
Aren’t ‘rare and valuable’ minerals like that used in electronics?
So, since sane people expect this virus nonsense to be over by 2021, this is really just a give to foreign manufacturers to try and keep as many in the country until it all blows over.
Kudlow has floated the idea of 100% expensing for companies that move back here from Chyna, POTUS has spoken positively of that idea as well.
Beijing is trying to keep these companies there.
China is currently trying to destroy Australia all because we want an investigation into their bat virus and how they spread it everywhere. Like everywhere their virus has seriously harmed our economy, now they are adding trade sanctions on us just for asking for an investigation.
Fuck China.
The CCP needs to be so utterly destroyed that it can never be resurrected.
China is asshoe.
China has never been our ally. We need to bring back manufacturing to the US. It will help us move forward as a nation and put more people to work that are living off welfare.
LMFAOOOO
We need to do no communist goods. Made in vietnam is a no go as well.
I don’t think we should buy or sell to China, they can go to hell.
Fuck China, China is asshoe!
The world would be so much better without China.
Ty! I figured it was a matter of production and not abundance. Especially when my liberal friends were losing their minds and saying how fucked we'd be without China.
Africa?
I've noticed every day Americans are fed up with the Chinese. There is a huge anti-CCP sentiment among my co-workers, many of whom are die hard liberals.
We were talking about having something manufactured and I had jokingly said "I know a guy in China" and the whole room exploded with "Fuck China" "It'll fall apart" "Not even the Plexiglas should be made in China!" "We shouldn't use a single screw made in China, send it to the mid west! We'll pay for a quality product!"
I was very surprised to see the sheer resentment and it was unanimous ...
I'm the one who would have made a comment about them sounding like Trump supporters.
F. CCP.
“ The latest list waives tariffs on products including ores of rare earth metals, gold ores, silver ores and concentrates.”
Oh FUCK NO. China is hoarding gold to back their cryptocurrency.
Fuck em.
I'm thinking that our ores of rare earth metals, gold ores, and silver ores should remain within our own country...
Just stopped in to say
FUCK CHINA IN ASSHOE
Bullshit they’re only approving companies they own like Smithfields in Pork
Don't trust China. China is assho
No more buying chinese junk and just as important we need to stop selling to these mooks.
Nah this is Chyna stockpiling goods for a low price
Exactly. They want to make it "profitable" for us to give up all our resources. Fuck Chy-nuh and everybody in it.
Waivers mostly on food and raw materials. LOL, no thanks.
We are going to need those materials for US based industry. If we have any left over, we will put you in the queue behind our allies.
Raise tariffs to 1000% percent.
Demand equal country of origin marks on digital sold products now! Makes mo sense that the box has to contain the country of origin but the online description does not.
