Amstaffs are awesome. I hope you enjoy. They were called “nanny dogs” because they were bought as puppies to be raised next to infants for their protection against other animals. So they DON’T do well with other animals, but they are extremely well behaved with people, to the point that they are worthless as guard dogs. I have had 2 Amstaffs and both lived up to this steretype. I had 3 kids while owning these 2 Amstaffs and the kids would crawl all over them, pull their ears and tail, etc. and no reaction frok the dogs. However, squirrel in the yard? Another dog in the park? Disaster.
If you are getting the Amstaff as a puppy then nbd, it just grows up with the cat. If you afe getting the Amstaff as a rescue/older, then you may have problems and would need to introduce the dog to the cat while the dog is still on leash to make sure his reaction is ok. I would be hesitant to put an adult Amstaff with an adult cat though.

No. Labradors do not attack just as often as Pitbulls; Also when Labradors do attack, the damage is much less severe compared to a Pitbull.
Pitbulls account for the VAST majority of dog attacks resulting in serious injury. I'd love if you could source your claim though. Always interested in learning more.
