They coordinated with the democrats and all worked on ramping up the pressure on Trump to the point they just knew he'd crack and do something they could then impeach him for. The Mueller thing was always about getting Trump to "obstruct justice" by being more and more over-the-top outrageous in their flaunting of their prosecutorial power. They were goading Trump, and the Gowdys of the world were supposed to offer chaff and countermeasures to keep the whole ruse hidden from the general public.
I made a mistake relying on the word of Gowdy, apparently. He did a good job of making it look like he was going after Crooked Hillary and the ObamaGate perpetrators. But like Sessions, he bailed before getting his hands dirty.
I had a lot of mis-placed faith in Gowdy at first, I was wrong. If he eventually does something effective, I will applaud. Til then, I can only see him as useless as Sessions.
