Honestly I disagree with the sentiment. There is definite corruption, but with a better justice system and better vetted politicians having no skin in the game also prevents panic among lawmakers which typically results in some patriot act bs getting passed near unanimously (with only Rand Paul voting against).

It is frustrating to see how so many who support indefinite lockdowns and the closed economy are still employed, getting paid, or are so financially stable that they are not impacted and could just live off their earnings alrwady, like celebrities lecturing people.

It is frustrating, but those rich congress people are going to be OK salary or not. I feel like cutting their salary would mostly hurt younger, less established politicians instead of the Pelosi/Schumer types that this sentiment targets.

The folks out by me who are the most vocal about support for keeping things locked down are either retired, don’t work to begin with or are housewives (with their Mrs. degrees) who have not been employed but have husbands making insane amounts of money in the Tech sector.

True. The OP isn't quite accurate. The problem is they DO have skin in the game, and it's all banking on the continued shutdown.
