People don’t realize how easy it is to control medical costs. All you need to do is lower the quality of care and voilà you can cut healthcare costs in half.
For example in the European system they have a set number of doctors for various procedures and those docs are at full capacity. This is very efficient because the doc just shows up to work, collects a paycheck, and doesnt worry about malpractice (medical mistake costs you a leg? Tough luck take some pain pills). If someone is old and likely to have complications just send them to the back of the line.
The result of this is that you have to wait very long for procedures at times. Which is the opposite of America where we have a surplus of doctors and accountability if they fuck up.
To be objective, if all you care about is keeping the aggregate population healthy enough to work and pay taxes the european system is just fine. But if you want the best possible care regardless of your age or pre-existing conditions you need to come to America. It is clear to me why mega corporations want us to settle for an inferior health care model.
You want government ran healthcare? This is what it looks like
