Candace Owens “hit the nail on the head with a jogging hammer” when she said the reason the black community is so behind socially is because it bends over backwards defending it’s criminals.

As a white man, if I read about a white criminal trespassing and stealing shit in a black neighborhood, and some black residents tried to apprehend him after witnessing him breaking the law, and then he was killed because the stupid white criminal attacked a black guy with a shotgun by grabbing the barrel and pulling it towards his abdomen and getting shot - I would be either “meh” or “good for those residents for not allowing that dude to fleece their neighborhood”. Bottom line to me is that (if anything) I would feel bad for the black guy with the shotgun who got attacked as the video made it fairly clear he only wanted to talk to the dead criminal until the cops arrived - and that he would be haunted by that moment forever.

Ah yes, the "Kitchen Table" defense. OJ can slaughter two people, Michael Vick can run a dogfighting ring etc., but they must have our public support. Because criticizing other black folks in front of white people is grounds for revocation of the black identity card.

muslimporn 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's also interesting that they're allowed to defend their own on account of race alone but white people are racist even if they stand up for themselves as individuals.

It's technically possible that he randomly snooping around and it was a very unlucky coincidence but even in those circumstances if you're wondering around trespassing on private property in an area where there have been some burglaries then you're running off you can expect that if your caught then someone might want to have a word with you. Not like they just went after a random black person, he was suspect.

You can't rule him out being a thief since he was once busted for stealing a TV from Walmart, a recent conviction.

The legal defence they're using is flawed however. At no point were the men able to even attempt to arrest him. There was no citizens arrest in the same manner that if a cop approaches you, gets in your way and asks you to stop then you attack him then no arrest has happened nor been attempted.

The defence is flawed because it never even got to that point before Arbery appears from the video to have gone on the attack. Hinging a defence on the validity of something that didn't even happen is something I see as potentially problematic.

when_we_win_remember 2 points ago +2 / -0

An argument will be made that an aggressor cannot claim self defense. The citizen's arrest statute gives the eventual shooter in this case the right to confront the now-deceased. IOW the shooter is not the aggressor because he was not trying to harm the "jogger," merely detain him.

Oblig. IANAL

muslimporn 1 point ago +1 / -0

It was not entirely clear at that point if he had committed a crime or not as opposed to acting very suspiciously so they will use that to say that a citizens arrest was not valid. Trespass in law is usually no harm no foul.

If someone leaves their door open then you walk in, take a nose around then walk out it's not normally considered a crime.

Trespass can still be grounds for suspicion and lawful intervention but certain things have to happen for it to become a crime. Walking into a stranger's premises isn't something you just normally do.

Half the time criminal trespass usually requires some actual other crime such as criminal damage.

It gets mixed up with burglary which supersedes trespass as a more serious crime but also requires trespass making trespass suspicion.

Criminal trespass is often a misdemeanour but burglary is a felony. I suspect citizens arrest will be strong for the latter as the media are going out of their way to point out trespass is not a felony, they're trying to basically make a case for the defence on their own.

The house had been robbed before and trespassed multiple times between them and now at a very suspect hour by Arbery or someone very closely resembling him. This time he got spotted because he did it in broad daylight. It would have to be very had luck for him to have happened to wonder in and look exactly like the main suspect.

However it was not certain that he was the one that did it. Usually even a security guard might try to get you to stop and talk to you but they can't actually cross the line and fully detain you unless they manage to get you to give up further evidence of guilt. Normally for anyone other than an officer to arrest someone they need to be certain not just suspicious.

In this case they had good reason to catch up with him just to ask him what he was doing going into someone else's premises. I'd assume only seeing it at night he couldn't resist the chance to see it in full daylight. It's problematic that it's difficult to legally do much about potential burglars staking out a joint.

They set out with the intent of possibly arresting him but they never got to the point where they were clearly doing that.

If they were in some way guilty then it's clear from the evidence available that it's to a very small degree. There's zero evidence of any mens rea and if there were a mistake there's zero evidence of it being serious.

The law in Georgia is actually not that strict for citizens arrest. Their intent to arrest was lawful intent as it allows arrest for reasonable suspicion, they believed they had that and there are grounds to say that it wasn't all that improbably. We have that in this case, though a key witness has been tampered with already that might be crucial to bolster that defence.

For example, he's now refusing to say that he shared any information with the people who went after Arbery to escape liability and also has been threatened stating that he won't live in the house because he has received death threats and doesn't feel that it's safe.

The media and Democrats are interfering with the case and prosecution demanding hate crime charges as well as first degree murder charges both of which are obviously and factually inapplicable.

Lawyers are coming out themselves and saying nonsense such as:

  • It was a robbery.
  • It was first degree murder.
  • It was a hate crime.
  • It has something to do with the stand your ground law.
  • Etc.

All of those are false so I wouldn't even trust a lawyer. I assume these days you only need to pay to be a lawyer or judge or lawmaker. Hardly any of them seem to actually know the law.

What pisses me off about this is how much I suspect I already know the outcome. The perp will not be convicted because he did not commit a crime. In a fair world, he wouldn't even have been charged, and if this weren't all over the news, he wouldn't be. It will not be because the system is biased. In fact, quite the opposite, it will be because the system is working as intended despite the bias introduced by the public.

This will be lost on "civil rights activists," not to mention your average black man on the street. In the interest of self-promotion they'll rile up a crowd, that will protest in some urban area completely unrelated to the case, and in all likelihood riot. The instigators of that won't face any charges, and the police "wont' be able to identify" any ne'er-do-wells in the crowd.

No one will learn any lessons, and it'll all happen again next time. That's the really frustrating part.

There’s low IQ jackasses in every race. It’s just that the media is worried Trump has too much black support and they need to do some dividing.

6
America1stAndOnly 6 points ago +7 / -1

Eh, not quite. The media has been stirring up the black/white divide long before Trump ever became president. They'll never pass up a chance to try and get more people hating whites. There's so much evidence in this case that makes it all plain as day that the "jogger" was clearly in the wrong and that the people that shot him were acting in self defense. Yet there are people that ignore this evidence to try and say that the white guy was a violent murderer and that the black guy was a saint. They know the truth, they just don't care, and they'll lie if it can hurt you. Classic move out of the leftist playbook.

muslimporn 3 points ago +3 / -0

Have you noticed that virtually EVERY single report says two white men and a black man then keeps on repeating it over and over that the white men did this then that?

They also keep saying it's murder when it's 100% not you can see that from the video. They also keep saying it's a hate crime when it's 100% not, there's no basis for that and there's ample evidence for them to have suspected him.

I also don't understand the stand your ground law or why that comes into it. Plain old self defence should be sufficient. For example why is the Zimmerman case anything to do with stand your ground when he's pinned to the ground being attacked? Why is this a stand your ground case when Arbery got the jump on the guy and was trying to seize the weapon?

I thought stand your ground only applies when you have a reasonable avenue of escape or deescalation?

It sounds like the beginnings of a bad joke. Two white men and a black man walk into a bar...

2
America1stAndOnly 2 points ago +2 / -0

They repeat it over and over again because it works, unfortunately. I witnessed this first hand today. Went to meet my neighbor, an older guy. Was planning to take him to the grocery store. He lets me in and I see that he's watching "The View" of all things. He then regurgitates the entire media spin of events at me. I try to tell him that's not what happened. I even tell him that I have the videos saved on my computer and I can show them to him. He just got upset at me and started insulting me. So I left. He can get his own damn groceries for a change. He seems to forget that it's not my job. I'm just his neighbor that was concerned about him, but I'm not going to help him if he goes flinging abuse at me.

He's always been a cantankerous old fuck, but ever since this damned lockdown he just stays inside all day, with blankets over his windows so there's not even any daylight getting in, and he just watches tv. Mostly cable news. That's all he does and it's clear that the extent of his thinking is that if it's on the glowing box it's true. I don't know how to reach him anymore.

I find it almost scary because we're meant to be beyond that. It's obvious what they're doing, it should be obvious to them what they're doing. It's a long established standard not to do what they're doing and it's explicit as a standard not to over involve race in the story if it has no bearing.

I don't think it's just your friend. Liberal people I know, friends, family, politicians, celebrities, professors, virtually everywhere you look you find these liberal enforcer or reactionary types that get really angry and emotional about something that's purely in their heads. If you show them the proof or the video it's like they're hallucinating and don't have a sense of reality or the ability to interpret it beyond the context of liberal hate speech such as blood libel, atrocity propaganda, scapegoating all directly aimed at denigrating white men while inflating their own sense of victimhood or virtue further driving their sense of entitlement.

These people aren't reasonable. I don't feel like I can co-exist with them. They're so pomp and self assured of themselves but in reality they're complete tripe. To be able to blatantly lie, do things that are wrong, have such a strongly held sense of self superiority makes such people impossible to work with or trust. Not sense of honour or any real internal integrity everything is purely a manifestation of how they want to be seen.

The worlds always been a bit mad but I feel like the world around me is turning into an insane asylum.

Sort as if a biblical rapture has already started to happen and souls are being taken away slowly up above or down below but because they're invisible we don't notice instead we're surrounded more and more by empty vessels all around us that lose their ability to operate as rational beings.

It's terrifying because they do things up front in your face blatantly with no doubt or room for interpretation. They just lie especially and don't care even if they're lying to your face and they're caught red handed lying. It's as if you were with a friend and they said the speed sign said 60 when it says 50. You stop, get out, it says 50, but they keep saying no it says 60. It's right in front of them, it's a clean perfectly legible sign, their eye site is perfectly good but they keep saying it's 60 and they're not joking about it they're serious.

I'm seeing more and more people in the name of the left doing wrong in plain sight that can't be by accident or without them being aware of it with no shame about it and if you dare point any of it out then you're the wrong doer.

They are actively practicing double think from 1984. They believe whatever the party tells them to believe. It's not that 2+2=4. If the party says that 2+2=3, they'll say it does. If the party says that 2+2=5, they'll believe it. If they party says that 2+2= both 3 & 5 at the same time, they'll believe it. More than that though, we've reached the point where the lie you're expected to go along with to not be socially ostracized is that 2+2=Green.

It is as if when you take all the examples in history that are well regarded especially on the left of what not to do then they use it as their instruction manual.

They start to look a lot like the Nazis, racists, tyrants, etc themselves.

Dr_Falsey 1 point ago +1 / -0

I do not know that the jogger was shot in self defense until all the evidence is before me. And for now we rely on media reports. I’ll wait to decide after I hear the case because nothing is plain as day to me.

2
America1stAndOnly 2 points ago +2 / -0

What do you mean we rely on media reports? No we don't. I've seen the footage myself. Of him attacking the guys and being in the building under construction beforehand.

So what? I've seen too many cops abuse their power for that to mean anything.

And I doubt that the mods here would let me post a video that shows a guy being shot to death.

What is this supposed to be evidence of? I remember back in 1996 going and checking out some of the houses under construction in and around Atlanta with a family member. Had there been cameras then I'm sure a similar photo would have been taken.

Why were we doing this? Because we were interested in the design and how it was constructed. Looking at the "bones" of a house under construction is very enlightening.

I can't ascribe motivation from a photo like this, having been in a similar position myself. You do as you please.

And my god... my story occurred in March 1996 in Atlanta... only a few months later would Richard Jewell be falsely accused of planting a bomb. Who knows what could have happened if my mom and I had encountered some nosy "Karen" back then.

And isn't that really kind of what this is? This ex-cop and his son got way too involved and went full vigilante. They are the Karens we all complain about and the result of their actions is that a man is dead because they cornered him. Don't give them a pass for that kind of crappy behavior even if you think this dead guy was a criminal.

And again... you do you. But to me the commandment to preserve life is paramount.
