I'm not sure what taxpayer handouts you mean. The majority of his money is because he was a dot-com millionaire.

He began a Ph.D. in applied physics and material sciences at Stanford University in 1995 but dropped out after two days to pursue a business career. He subsequently co-founded (with his brother Kimbal) Zip2, a web software company, which was acquired by Compaq for $340 million in 1999. Musk then founded X.com, an online bank. It merged with Confinity in 2000, which had launched PayPal the previous year and was subsequently bought by eBay for $1.5 billion in October 2002.

That’s awesome. Thank you for correction. I’m not a tech guy and defer to a much younger crowd on this type of topic. More of a farmer type. All I know is he’s for freedom, speaking out against tyranny, and that is good enough for me these days

Theres also another way to look at it. When you file your taxes, you want to find ALL the deductions you are eligible for. Claiming a deduction works the same for businesses as it does for individuals. Should all of these deductions exist? No. Should you utilize them when you qualify for them? ABSOLUTELY! The same goes for economic incentives proposed by municipal, state, and the federal government.

Absolutely agree. As many tax dollars as possible should stay with the productive members of society. Governments only consume and suppress. For some reason I was under the impression Tesla has received some real heavy tax dollar help from the shitbag previous administration. My knowledge of Musk comes from Rush who is my only link to the millennial technology world. I am a self acknowledged white trash redneck deplorable whose less than average at just about everything that is not tech savvy but from what I understand Elon is somewhat of an idol in that realm and considered a visionary. I have leaned from my fellow Pedes. Thank you Musk for Governor!

Musks profit from Paypal sale was $180 mil.

He dumped this money into Tesla and legend has it, a rocket.

Jk, not legend, I listened to his Audible biography.

Funny enough, actually, he dumped almost all of it into SpaceX at first and basically was fully committed to building a rocket or going bankrupt. I think he injected the last 30 million dollars he had into SpaceX the year before he landed the NASA partnership for their success with his Falcon 1 rocket. This partnership money helped float SpaceX further.

You gotta hand it to the guy. He didn't just take all his money and sit on it as he dumped it into stocks or something. Nope, he took MASSIVE risks, and almost lost everything to build SpaceX. Guy is a visionary, and a true risk-taking entrepreneur. I at least can respect him for that.
