We'd get a small John boat to drag behind us, put a car battery in it with some lights attached hanging over the gunwale (since it was well after sunset). Rope it to our belts and wade around looking for supper/breakfast, depending on how long it took. Had to watch for stingrays a bit.

This was a loooong time ago and not very far from your picture. There's an inlet with some wide, sandy, and shallow areas that those critters used to love, a long time ago at least. Thanks for the memories!
