God. Guys, could you imagine if he were to win the popular vote and therefore win all of California's electoral votes?

Could yuh?

Because I can imagine The Reeeambulance. And 👏 I 👏 can't 👏 wait 👏.

wait.

did cali do something about changing their system so all their electoral votes go to whoever wins the popular?

I heard about some states doing that. Maybe Virginia.

Or maybe Cali already does this?...

Yeah, they did. It's fucked but if Trump wins the popular vote it's going to blow up in their faces and it will be GLORIOUS.

Just imagine, California's electoral votes automatically go to Trump hahahaha

Shouldn't this be overturned before the election? It's blatantly unconstitutional; it completely undermines the Constitution

Yeah, won't hold up to a current SCOTUS challenge but then there's Roberts. He might think they can just call it a voter tax and go with it.

No this is not true. They did change it, but there is language in it such that it only goes into effect if more than 270 electoral votes of other states also adopt the laws. This way they can't get fucked like you're thinking.

I really don't understand how people can be so unbelievably stupid.

Yes, but no. You, and afaik everyone who responded to you has a fundamental misunderstanding of the process. All of the states who have this far joined the compact have done so with caveat that awarding their states EC votes based on popular vote will NOT occur until such time as the total number of EC votes held by the compact is sufficient to elect the President.

Until then, their EC votes are distributed in the traditional sense.

I hope they launch a lawsuit to get that interstate compact shit shutdown by forcing California to award him the electors. They'd pull out of that silly idea quicker than you can say "California is insolvent".

I want that 538 perfect victory!
