The reason they build "trust" with those demographics is because they speak to their racial heritage, and in so doing create racial division and infuse that into our political system. When the Germans, Swedes, and Italians came here in the 19th century, our politicians didn't speak German or Italian to them, or tell them that we needed a German or Italian on the Supreme Court, or in congress, or anything else. They were expected to learn English and become Americans. And because there was no welfare state propping them up, it was in their best interests to assimilate as quickly as possible. They knew they would never be rich, or even well off, but the hope is that their children would do better because they were born and raised here, not in the old countries.
Compare that with "hispanics" who come here. They speak Spanish in the home, teach their kids Spanish first, rely on the schools to teach them English as a second language, and many take government welfare so they never have to assimilate. The majority don't want to be Americans. They love Mexico and teach their kids to love Mexico, not the U.S. The majority do not love this country. They see it as them "getting one over on the stupid gringos", and celebrate their demographic dominance.
The jury is out on whether or not the 2nd generation will behave this way, as American culture is still the strongest and most attractive in the world. But it doesn't help with Democrats (and you, apparently) constantly reinforcing this ethnic separation by speaking a foreign language. It creates division, whether you see it or not. It paints them as others, and tells them subconsciously that they aren't "real" Americans, because they need to be pandered to. The problem is that by teaching them in Spanish you’re not treating them as American you’re treating them as Mexican (or whichever country) living on our land. I think we need to find ways to treat them as American, and bring them into our culture. Not to make them more separate. Either they should want to be American and that is why they are here or move out. Step one is no more Spanish or Chinese or whatever language in any official capacity (and we can tell them that in their language) and zero benefits that natural born citizens don’t receive. Then they have opportunities and freedoms within our system. I don’t think people can be told the truth to believe it, only shown the truth so they feel it for themselves. It’s not a quick process. We need to dismantle all the things that pander to them. And show them the true American culture. They are very hard working people, I think they can fit right in. The reason they build "trust" with those demographics is because they speak to their racial heritage, and in so doing create racial division and infuse that into our political system. Really look at how many of our problems come from this so called strength. It has already totally handicapped this country, maybe permanently. What else do we talk about in America besides race?
When the Germans, Swedes, and Italians came here in the 19th century, our politicians didn't speak German or Italian to them, or tell them that we needed a German or Italian on the Supreme Court, or in congress, or anything else. They were expected to learn English and become Americans. And because there was no welfare state propping them up, it was in their best interests to assimilate as quickly as possible. They knew they would never be rich, or even well off, but the hope is that their children would do better because they were born and raised here, not in the old countries.
Compare that with "hispanics" who come here. They speak Spanish in the home, teach their kids Spanish first, rely on the schools to teach them English as a second language, and many take government welfare so they never have to assimilate. The majority don't want to be Americans. They love Mexico and teach their kids to love Mexico, not the U.S. The majority do not love this country. They see it as them "getting one over on the stupid gringos", and celebrate their demographic dominance.
The jury is out on whether or not the 2nd generation will behave this way, as American culture is still the strongest and most attractive in the world. But it doesn't help with Democrats (and you, apparently) constantly reinforcing this ethnic separation by speaking a foreign language. It creates division, whether you see it or not. It paints them as others, and tells them subconsciously that they aren't "real" Americans, because they need to be pandered to. It's the same thing Democrats do to blacks, and look at the black Democrat constituency.

The problem is that by teaching them in Spanish you’re not treating them as American you’re treating them as Mexican (or whichever country) living on our land. I think we need to find ways to treat them as American, and bring them into our culture. Not to make them more separate. Either they should want to be American and that is why they are here or move out. Step one is no more Spanish or Chinese or whatever language in any official capacity (and we can tell them that in their language) and zero benefits that natural born citizens don’t receive. Then they have opportunities and freedoms within our system. I don’t think people can be told the truth to believe it, only shown the truth so they feel it for themselves. It’s not a quick process. We need to dismantle all the things that pander to them. And show them the true American culture. They are very hard working people, I think they can fit right in.
