Didn't it turn on in the end that he was actually innocent or some shit?

They found a random illegal alien to blame. Supposedly he was fingered (not like by Creepy Joe Biden) by a jailhouse informant who was full of shit. The conviction was overturned and they deported him instead of trying him again.
