I'm going to play a bit of devil's advocate here and possibly get downvoted into oblivion, but it makes more sense strategically to expose the Russia hoax leading up to November. They let the Dems and media paint themselves into a corner. They have the perpetrators lying under oath. If they killed the investigation two years ago, they would have been absolutely roasted by the media for obstruction and accused of covering up. I'm expecting a steady drip of declassified testimony and investigations over the summer, hopefully leading to someone finally getting indicted over this. Remember, the goal is a second term, taking back the house and another SC pick.
