My bet is that Samantha Power is the one who leaked Flynn's call.

Joe's not smart enough. He just did it on the 12th so he wouldn't feel left out in the club.

YouKnowWhatItIs87 29 points ago +29 / -0

Sad to say, you’re likely right, or some staffer just had him sign off on it to muddy the waters while keeping Obama himself off the list.

18
Whirlybot 18 points ago +18 / -0

Obamas chief of staff even unmasked Flynn. There's your Obama connection. Chief of staff is not tasked with reviewing intelligence documents.

24
iamjohnwick 24 points ago +24 / -0

I would not take that bet. I believe it too.

23
turdinthepunch 23 points ago +23 / -0

I'm thinking Comey. I think he needed the media for his new Logan Act push directive he got from Obama and that's why the FBI has not investigated it.

31
Shwoogin 31 points ago +31 / -0

I very much so doubt it was one of the spooks. They're all greasy, but extremely savvy. They know damn well how the game works and the consequences of losing that game. Samantha Power is the outlier on that list, not a spy, not a spook, not a dug in bureaucrat, she was an ambassador. It's the nature of the position that her purpose is to further a political agenda for the relatively brief period she is in the position. She's the outlier, pure politician ignoramus.

Obviously we don't know yet, but I think the easy money is on Power.

24
MrTrumpsWildRide 24 points ago +24 / -0

The others may be cunning, but Comey really strikes me as a hapless simpleton.

I mean, maybe he's got me fooled because he's so good at playing one, but damn he acts a great pathetic, airhead, narcissistic loser.

17
VoterIDMatters 17 points ago +19 / -2

He is not stupid or simple. He definitely has you fooled.

He is one of the slowest fuckers of the bunch.

10
MrTrumpsWildRide 10 points ago +11 / -1

He got fired and had his office cleaned out while he was speaking at some "diversity" event, and he had to get told not to show up to work by a television.

Seems pretty simple to me.

Admitting leaking is an interesting one too. Real big brain right there.

Just because he has so far got away with it, doesn't mean much. The syndicate has been set up carefully so a few bad shitapples don't spoil the rest. They are handled and told what to do, they all cover for each other, they they have prosecutors and judges, they have congressmen, they have the mainstream media.

A monkey with downs syndrome could have done the same.

3
VoterIDMatters 3 points ago +9 / -6

Your understanding of the situation is simplistic and incorrect.

Watch some senate hearings with him. He’s crafty as fuck.

13
MrTrumpsWildRide 13 points ago +16 / -3

The senate hearings where he's "grilled" by fellow globalists with prearranged questions that he's rehearsed the answers to?

I think you're the one who's been dazzled by the flashing lights of this circus.

4
Irish_Wolfhound 4 points ago +5 / -1

Head of the FBI is unintelligent?? He was head of legal for Bridgewater, one of the biggest hedge funds in the world with $160B in assets, thats BILLIONS. GWB was the master at playing the idiot to deflect from noobs. Comey may go to GITMO but no one who reaches those high ranks lacks extreme intelligence. It's farcical to suggest otherwise

You think hrc email server was born out of incompetence? It was to avoid foia requests and allow foreign actors access to information.

2
4TheWin2020 2 points ago +2 / -0

And btw Dick Cheney privatized the Iraq War via his former company, Halliburton, how much you think he made on that deal. Cheney is an evil genius at using tax payer money so he can be worth 9 figures

2
4TheWin2020 2 points ago +2 / -0

You assume it was ham-fisted incompetence when the more likely answer is she was doing it on purpose to cover her secret agreements for quid pro quo donations to the Clinton foundation. If she used government computers to sell influence she'd be caught red handed and it would only take one patriot in the state department, NSA or FBI to expose her. But if she did it on her personal servers then there's no paper trail and her buddies in Sr positions at the DOJ and FBI could give her a pass which they did

nsulltan 15 points ago +15 / -0

My bet is it wasn’t actually her and she allowed others to act on her behalf and this has come back to bite her harder than she ever expected. If you think about it there is evidence that she made hundreds of unmasking requests, no one with a real position of power would sign their name to this dumb shit action but a malicious pleb at the UN might. Or she really is that big of a dumb shit and it’s a good thing she is gone. Also why does someone at the UN have this kind of unfettered access to this kind of intelligence.

6
preferredfault 6 points ago +6 / -0

My bet is that it was her, but she was doing the unmasking for others (knowingly). Only just now have we been given proof that Obama and Biden themselves were doing unmaskings. So they had Powers do the unmasking for them and pass the data along, so that their hands weren't solely on it, while also trying to scrub that their hands were ever on it. They needed justifications for going after Trump, and if people like Obama and Biden and Lynch were the only ones doing the unmaskings, that would have made it all the easier to tell what was going on, and would have been a singular trail to follow. Instead, they had a ton of people do unmaskings to make it look like they were running legitimate intelligence/national security, rather than going after a political opponent.

Given the security checks in place, they can say with absolute certainty that Powers did make the request, and did get the information. But she was just a proxy to pass unmasking information along to others.

8
Eddy_Kemp 8 points ago +8 / -0

Wasn't it Admiral Rogers who talked about FBI "contractors" (Fusion GPS) submitting unmasking requests under Power's identity/account/whatever? It was why he immediately shutdown access to the info/system because he saw this abuse going on...

Let me see if I can dig that info back up...

2
Ballind 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's why they started the investigation. When he shut down the blanket spying, they created a fake investigation the very next day

Nope she said "I have no recollection" to every question she lied to... And therefore she didn't lie.

This is some bullshit that needs to change but currently that's all they have to do to get away with it.

17
Tallsie 17 points ago +17 / -0

I’d rather have her on sedition then lying anyway.

11
SpaFixr 11 points ago +11 / -0

As long as it entails jail or a firing squad I’m good with it.

12
AbsurdOpinion 12 points ago +12 / -0

I don't think a court would accept "I have no recollection" when she was making the reqest every week and sometimes twice in a single week over a 6 week period. It's just not plausible for someone in her position to not recall that about such a key figure.

2
Emper 2 points ago +2 / -0

It also doesn't work when you sign your name on the evidence.

2
ScullyMully 2 points ago +2 / -0

She's married to Cass Sunstein. She didn't ad-lib under oath.

1
honeybunchesofoats 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bill Gates’ legal team developed the “I do not recall” defense during the antitrust investigation into Microsoft. I’m sure it’s been used before that in more limited scope, but the success of his defense was widely seen and since widely emulated. I don’t know a solution to it, but agree that it’s an issue.

20
MrBojangles 20 points ago +20 / -0

Seems lying to congress is meaningless seeing that Flynn was getting thrown in jail for a "process crime" with the FBI.

She also said that some of her activities weren't hers.

She already fingered Obama (no, not like Biden) as him meeting in the loop. It is very plausible that she offered/allowed Obama to run those queries under her access credentials. Hmmmm

International ambassadors are the channels they utilize to tie foreign and domestic matters together. This creates a situation where both the SeeEyeEhh and EffBeeEye can now be "legally" utilized foreign and domestically. In Trumps particular situation....there were no real foreign ties to justify that sort of intelligence apparatus....even in our police state. So they had to manufacture their own ties through all the stupid shit we've seen over the past 3 years (Steele, Carter Page, FISA, etc.)

5
Brlove0915 5 points ago +5 / -0

This is a really sad CYA from her that wouldn't stand up to any sort of scrutiny. These intelligence requests aren't like logging into Facebook for some info. You can't just share your credentials like that.

32
HostoryStartsAt1776 32 points ago +32 / -0

She didn’t try to unmask him, she succeeded in unmasking him. Therefore she didn’t lie, checkmate drumpf.

14
DickTick 14 points ago +14 / -0

Actually it doesn't even need to go that far.... every question she lied to she started the answer with "I have no recollection of".... That's all you need to do to not be perjured....

Good thing though, Fitton got the opportunity to get Hillary live, under oath. Not sure when this happens but no more of the 'public story' telling us whatever she wants to in the media. Look at all of the IC people who had to say 'didn't see any russian collusion' under oath while spewing all of the 180 degrees opposite story in media. Need to get Schiff under oath.

"I have no recollection"

And that's how they save their self every single time.

If you want to know what they're lying about just look at what answers begin with a statement like that.....

6
TickleMissle 6 points ago +6 / -0

Ultimately it's up to the question asker to call her out on that shit. She doesn't have to answer....but you'd ultimately get the real answer when they drop that stupid fucking line. Our legislators are fucking dunces though.

Q: Did you unmask General Flynn? A: Hmmm. I have no recollection of doing that. Q: So that's a no then? A: I have no recollection of it. Q: So it's possible but you don't know or can't remember? A: I have no recollection. Q: That answer doesn't apply to the question. It's either possible or not possible.

Why was Samantha Powers, in the role of US ambassador to the United Nations, unmasking anyone?

8
AnIdahoan 8 points ago +8 / -0

So is Obamagate a "conspiracy theory" now?

At least there's tangible documented evidence. Much more than that supposedly "perfectly newsworthy" Russia fanfiction.

7
RedReddit 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yes. Because conspiracy theorist is a term made up by the CIA to mean crackpot. A conspiracy theory would be a theory of a conspiracy. A theory by nature requires some sort of evidence or circumstance for it to be posited in the first place, yet the CIA has you convinced it means conspiracy fantasy.

Weird how meanings of words change all the time. "Nationalist" becomes akin to Nazi. "Patriot Act" is the exact opposite. "White Supremacy" is a meritocracy. "Conspiracy theory" was the first.
