When the enemy is specific, a person, a group, an ideology, there is a clear goal and direction for people to work toward and overcome. There is purpose, and hope, and joy at every step of the path to remove the enemy. There is unity and fellowship among the patriots who seek to bring an end to the war they find themselves in.

As long as the enemy is an ephemeral one, the system, patriarchy, capitalism, their is NO solution. There is no goal. There is nothing to work toward, there is nothing to be joyous about, there is only fear and hate. It becomes a simple matter to point a finger, and direct that eternal energy and hatred at any group or person you want. It will never be satiated, it will never be happy. Because the ephemeral goal will always remain distant.
