So, I'm cancelling a flying trip. I don't really want to support their mask requirements and it was not a short flight either. I've only worn a mask once to get a haircut and I can't imagine having humid breath and fogged up glasses face for several hours. I'll just try that again next year and see how much "new normal" is still going on.
The thing is traveling is a huge part of recreation for me, so I want to replace it with a road trip. I've got 8 days in a row to do whatever and I'm going somewhere. This is in late June.
Right now I'm thinking about driving to the North to South Dakota and Wyoming and hitting up different locales along the way. The thing is I can't find anything about if these checkpoints and mandatory quarantines are still in effect or if they are likely to be a month from now. I saw Wyoming was at one point had a quarantine for travelers. I can't find anything in the orders on the state's website about it.
Colorado I would just be passing through for the most part. I can avoid it entirely if need be.
GA into FL on 95 still has it, I went through today. Some "youth" with dreds and no mask asked me what state I was coming from.. On the FL/GA line..
Now I want to do to the point where Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma meet and drive in a circle to confuse them.
Even though I asked I don't even know if Texas has them. I'm planning to go one state over on Memorial Day weekend, I guess we will see if they try to tell me I can't return to my one home where I live and work.
I was kinda hoping to hear that at least the red states had quit this.
N.E. Texas here,no problem with Ok.,Ark.or Tx.The whole area is about 85% open.Casinos in Ok. are going to start opening 1st.of June.Don't know about La. line haven't been down that way for awile.
That's good news--that's the direction I'll be heading Memorial Day weekend. I didn't really think it would be a problem and actually just found that order for travel from Louisiana was rescinded on May 1.
It's about the same here in DFW (not Dallas County). Things are open and most of the people that are out are acting normal. Some restaurants have some tables marked to not sit at. I've avoided Dallas County though they've gone nuts there. Never really went to Dallas anyway.
Well if you are just driving and looking, check out Broken Bow lake.Bought 60 miles north of Tx-Ok. line on hiway 259.
But like, you could have totally teleported from another state, duh. LOL!
Its a mess, canopy tents falling over. Lounging in rolling chairs with 20 troopers on hot stand-by to catch, whoever the hell they want to catch I guess.
