This map does not include suspected deaths or anything like that. Data was copied on May7th at around 11pm from google typing in "Covid Deaths" which mostly sources wikipedia. But it's all taken from the chart that comes up when you do the search. Given the uncertainty in the number of deaths, I went ahead and published even though I'm off by 1-3%. Also, there wasn't county data in Massachusettes, so the percentages were inferred from the case count. Pretty safe to do when compared to other states.
Maybe the last one was removed due to the Manhattan Error and the color scheme. Maybe this one will be ok. If anybody knows why it got taken down, please let me know.
Source is someone on Reddit who posted it to /r/mapporn: https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/gg5nuc/covid_deaths_in_us_counties_divided_by_thirds/
They explain their methodology and provide sources. Lots of whining in the comments. Link to Reddit comment with source comment copied below: https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/gg5nuc/covid_deaths_in_us_counties_divided_by_thirds/fpxpn8v/
Quite literally, it's just New York holding the entire fucking country hostage.
Fuck this shit.
That is the critical insight that will free more people faster.
The more states that open, people living under tyrannical governors will see those enjoying their freedom, become jealous, and demand the same.
Agreed! Time for me to show off some good things happening in FL! Many great things happening across our nation.
