He's in for a big fucking surprise if he thinks that moving to Austin will be an improvement over California. Makes no sense to move from one commie shithole to another commie shithole.

Having split time between the West Coast and Austin over the past 15 years - they both are infected by the blue grip of despair, but Austin isn't even in the same conversation as California - no offense. At the end of the day, CA tells you "how big, where, what to pay, etc" and Texas(even Austin) asks "What can we do for you to make your businesses move here as smooth and hassle free as possibe?"

With that said - Austin is becoming a blue shit hole for sure.

Maybe it will be out in the hill country just out of the reach of Austin’s commie cancer.

Not that close to Austin. Vicinity of La Grange, Fort Hood, and McGregor.

txladyvoter 18 points ago +18 / -0

Thank God. That's not Austin. Austin doesn't have any room for any building in the city limits anyway.

The blind cave dwelling salamanders and the golden cheek warblers would stop construction anyway...

Winner winner... Pretty much stopped all road construction for years. I recall returning to Austin in the 2000s and Barton Springs Road was STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION...

I got a couple job offers to move to Austin from a shithole known as Connecticut. Reading some of these comments makes me wonder... I always though Texas was pretty level headed conservative??

I love the fact that he is moving to Texas, I wish he would move to my state. But Austin? I thought he was trying to get away from Leftist tyranny. I hope he is not one of them people from California that is bringing California values to Texas.

I'm a Texan but I wouldn't mind seeing some of the California business exodus spread around a bit too. A lot of other states that would offer a favorable business environment and aren't liberal-run could use some factories too.

Also hoping when he says Austin, he really means something like Round Rock. Austin proper seems it would be quite fussy about him not wanting to be a liberal sheep.

Welcome to Texas Elon!

-3
MJ85 -3 points ago +2 / -5

Elon Musk is out for Elon Musk, and unlike Trump his dreams aren't self sustaining without Government subsidy and patronage.

I figured he would be heading for the North East if he could swing it, but maybe he wants to be near energy friendly Texas so he can partner with people willing to use electric vehicles powered by realistic fuel sources in a State that would rather increase energy consumption regardless of its efficiency so they avoid a 0 dollar barrel situation.

4
txladyvoter 4 points ago +4 / -0

Zero dollar a barrel is not an issue. The gas prices in this state are rising as the consumption is going up because Texas is opening up.
