Agreed, but it seemed to me that the people I talked to were thankful to come here and better their lives. I could be wrong though. I mean none of them were promoting their home countries as anything special. The Jamaican gentleman did say his country was a beautiful place to visit and see family. And I am a Native American. I was born here. Many generations removed from my original ancestry. My grandmother was nearly full-blooded Cherokee, although from my name and skin color people would say I am as white as paper. If I went back to my many greats grandfather's original country, they would laugh at me if I told them I was their nationality.
My many greats grandfather on my father's side came to America in the early 1700's. I am more German ancestry than anything. There is literally a town and castle (ruins) in Germany named after my surname. I am as white as they come. But I respect my grandmothers ethnicity, also. I consider myself native American in the sense that there is literally no one else in the world like me, nor is there any other place that I could truly call my home. I have as much right to be here as anyone else.

I’m not African American either, I don’t do anything that’s traditionally African and neither do they. I guarantee your average black person isn’t buying traditional African clothing, eating traditional African food, or doing traditional African customs.
