If you have the chance to visit Taiwan, visit Chiang Kai-shek's personal residence, where you can hear a recording of his wife's impassioned speech in which she expresses her gratitude to the US Congress for their support of the Republic of China in WWII. I felt so proud to be an American, listening to that. She lived until age 105, in 2003.

I can't wait to go back to Taiwan. Loved the food, loved the people; so much beautiful Chinese history to see. It was that China that saved as many historical artifacts as they could from the rampaging communists on the mainland. 台湾萬歳!Long live Taiwan!
