I have a co-worker that just complains about Trump and throws out MSM coronavirus talking points, then turns right around and says, "I don't like talking about politics at work." And he's always talking about how he'd kick someone's ass. I actually find it all hilarious.
But I let the political stuff go in one ear and out the other. What am I gonna do? Convince this brainwashed guy that he's been completely brainwashed? He's like 72. Otherwise, he's a good guy. Sometimes it's best to just let them rant and say things like, "Wow!" and "That's amazing. I never heard that." Eventually the topic will change and it'll be back to common interests.
This...make the deal if they can't talk rationally and tell them that their comments are hurtful to you as well because it feels like they don't respect your opinion. That's the beauty of politics, you are entitled to your opinions, I guarantee that even on this site we all disagree on many things. This is what angers me about the current state of affairs in this country, it feels like one side won't let the other side have an opinion......good luck
Mock them endlessly by email, meme, texts, and skywriting. Secure 2-sided Trump signs to their window casements with titanium lag-bolts so they can't open their windows, and hire friends with megaphones to shout, "Cucks Get Out!" outside their jobs 24 hours a day, spell out TRUMP in baloney slices on their cars, and then get a MAGA neck tattoo.
Or, you can live and let live, and keep your family close to your heart despite the fact that there seems to be irreconcilable differences politically, and hopefully enjoy the time you are all given together by our Creator. I'd go with this option, friend.
My sister in law. Great girl sort of, but consumed with TDS. Bunch of us were together having a good non political time. She started in; I listed to three or four quick rants. I started SCREAMING Orange Man Bad every time she would talk. It ended pretty quickly.
You’re not gonna convince someone with TDS that Trump is the good guy. Only thing you can do is make bets with them. Make it fun. For example, 3 years ago trump tweets “Obama had my wires tapped”. CNN made fun of trump for that, but it was recently just proven true. Find similar things that trump is saying now that the media is calling him an idiot for, bet your parents that trump is actually right, and then when he’s proven right, show them the evidence and demand your money.
Besides from that, be the bigger person because we all know liberals can’t do that lol
People sometimes say "You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family" as if that justifies sticking by shitty family members. The truth is that statement justifies ridding yourself of shitty family members. The fundamental issue here is that of being unequally yoked. They obviously love degeneracy, socialism, communism, etc, and clearly they lack the power of discernment to identify threats and allies with accuracy.
