If you feel the need to get upset at someone because they aren't as entirely gung ho pro-weed as you (but still pretty pro-weed), then you have some kind of problem. I JUST don't think legalizing weed has saved TONS and TONS of lives. As a concept it just doesn't make sense. Have you considered that maybe you have just been lied to? Keep in mind I'm not preaching some anti-weed message, just that it's likely almost statistically impossible that it will save your life.
Might improve your appetite or help with aches or sleeping and even symptoms from more serious ailments like MS, but I highly doubt that it will save your life or anyone else's life. The basic theory seems to be that if weed is legal people will give up alcohol and other drugs en masse and those same people who 5 seconds ago were on a collision course with death on drugs/alcohol will be completely fine and not die if they smoke weed instead. That's not happening to an extent that it statistically is significant. Also, suicides, accidental deaths and other things could be going up and we'd have no idea. That kind of thing would only be visible in a real multivariate analysis of all deaths and the correct timeframe not 1992-2005 traffic deaths before weed was even legal.
By the way, I don't think you need to show that it has any benefit for weed to be legal for adults. I'm full Milton Friedman on that shit man. I've just smoked a ton of weed in my life and heard this same old shit over and over again. It's false.
