Weed does not lower crime rates. A good economy does though and there might be some correlation there of the last 3 years. No need to exaggerate weed's positive aspects unless you're attempting to rationalize. Marijuana is fine or minimally harmless to a lot of people, even perhaps good for some, but definitely not for everyone and anyone who is regularly using it is capable of abusing at some point. So, the idea that it is completely harmless for everyone, all the time and in any amount is false.
You're correct about the other stuff though. We don't need to be demonizing pot users (or especially pot small business owners) and I also had a touch of cringe from the Tucker segment. But hey, it's an entertainment show at the end of the day. It is also an absurd thing to point out about the House Bill as well.
That's actually a pretty well studied link (MJ and schizo disorders). As I said as someone who has no problem with it is that it's not for everyone and that there is a point where one can use too much of it. That should tell you that it's not completely harmless. We don't say that about the benign.
People always want to make the "well it's better than ___" argument because they are rationalizing. They are rationalizing, I suspect, because they are addicted/dependent/abusing the substance. It's pretty much what anyone with any addiction does they deny, deflect, rationalize, compare, contrast, etc.
