Sneeze into a mask. Wipe the inside of the mask with tissue paper. The wet spots prove that the mask is reducing the infection vector of coughing or sneezing.

Is it foolproof? Hell no. Does reducing the volume and frequency of exposure to disease vectors reduce the chances of disease transmission? Hell yes.

I get it that lots of people hate wearing masks, but that does not change the fact that masks help keep infected people from transmitting the disease to others. Even crappy masks help, some.

Are masks alone enough? No, but they can help.

Should we all be wearing masks right now? That's a completely different issue.
