"We did not find evidence that surgical-type face masks are effective in reducing laboratory-confirmed influenza transmission, either when worn by infected persons (source control) or by persons in the general community to reduce their susceptibility"
Yeah but wearing a makeshift mask does nothing to protect from a virus.

These are the same people that have lied to you about damn near everything
If the masks and stuff are useless, why do hospitals need them so desperately?
Why did China gobble up the world supply of them?
They wanted it to spread, GEOTUS presumably takes hydroxychloroquine so he doesn’t have to wear a mask
The people that are going to be around POTUS are also screened.
Use some logic. In hospitals they were an N95 to protect against viruses. The 95 stands for 95% of particulates.
A surgical mask and especially a makeshift mask is not going to stop any harmful virus particulates from entering or exiting your airway.
Since you dont trust the CDC link here is one from the Center of Infectious Disease Research and Policy:

I’ll see your “logic” and raise you common fucking sense
Wrong, it does protect from exiting airway.
The CDC isn’t trustworthy
No shit Sherlock, they protect everyone else but the person wearing it, that's the point.
...about as well as pants protect others from your farts.
The Smell of Farts
Flatus often stinks! There are several chemicals that contribute to the smell of farts:
Some of these happen to be bigger than viruses, don't you know.

Everything works perfectly in theory. In practice, not so much.
