people just need to stop being hypochondriacs, use some hand soap if you're that germophobic and let your immune system deal with it

It's not their fault. They're under a spell of mass hysteria

Context: Went shopping today to my local Costco. I was actually impressed the last two times I went - they were limiting the number of people in the store, wiping down carts for customers, and had employees throughout the stores wiping down surfaces, such as door handles, after being touched.

In the checkout area, they had a worker monitoring/guiding customers to an area in line, and everyone was spaced out. During checkout, employees wiped down all surfaces in the checkout area for the customer before/after every customer.

Today, while requiring every member to wear masks, Costco:

  1. No longer have employees cleaning/wiping down anything
  2. No longer have any guides in the checkout area
  3. No longer wipe down anything in the checkout area
  4. Actively encouraged customers to bunch up in the narrow checkout lanes, violating social distancing guidelines
  5. Did not limit the number of people in the store

But everyone's wearing a mask, so the virus can't spread anymore!
