A good surgical style or n95 mask only protects others from you if many other measures are being taken in tandem. By themselves, they just collect your bacteria and concentrate it right at your face and on the mask itself.

You should make a video on how to protect yourself for real.

I ask this and get a re-spout of the same thing:

How can the same mask with the same pore size protect you from my breathing out, but not me by my breathing in?? I am wearing a mask that virus can enter but not exit! Either both, or neither is logical. This one way nonsense defies the laws of physics.

OK it may stop spittle, but the moisture on the mark dries and then I am back to breathing out the virus that is left on the mask. That reproduced itself plentifold in the moist cloth. Then OK I don't wash the mask everyday. So I am breathing out virus. NOT ME, I don't have it!

Say I cough, and the mask stops some spittle. The rest of the breath out is propelled harder and faster BY the cough.

The mask Karens never ever address the in vs out logic, just repeat that it is considerate to wear a mask for others! if not yelling to FORCE us to wear masks to protect other.

BTW I don't have it! And I trust my knowledge of my body and my exposure than I would the false positive rate of the testing.

I get that it's tempting to throw the idea of masks out when they are favored by people who are calling for tossing out freedom and oblivious to the fact that people being out of work can kill as many or more than the virus.

But imagine that you are standing in Walmart and someone passes close to you and sneezes in your direction.

Do you want them to be wearing a mask?

They may look entirely healthy and be transmitting. We don't know. But IF they were transmitting, you'd prefer that even their breath hanging in the air didn't blow in your direction. Well, that's the one thing the mask is good at. No, it won't stop the virus if it's in the air, but masks can retain droplets and keep your breath closer to you. It isn't 100% effective at stopping transmission, but it is effective at reducing the contagion zone.

Evil almost always cloaks itself in good. When we stand against evil, we can't also stand against good.

Our President rightfully doesn't wear a mask, because he is a head of state who has to project strength to his constituents and enemies. The same goes for some people around him who make public appearances. But his White House staff is wearing masks.

I personally won’t care if they sneeze next to me while passing by. If your pants and underwear can’t stop a fart, a cloth mask isn’t doing anything for you or the other person to protect from Covid.

Maybe the best thing about masks and gloves is that they serve as a reminder to keep your hands out of your face. If someone is vulnerable, it may help.

You are more likely to touch your face wearing a mask than not wearing a mask.
