I use Windows 10, is there any resource you would recommend to me for getting Linux going on my machine, maybe as a dual OS situation?

oh running linux on your machine, just burn a live image on a thumb drive and boot off it. You will be running linux while not touching your windows install. You won't have any persistent storage but I suggest a beefy second thumb drive to hold any files you may want to save.
