It's so dumb. Ex players (who were any good) don't make good coaches almost ever regardless of skin color. Why? Because they have long careers playing and less time coaching. Want more black coaches? This needs to be promoted at the lesser level so you have a larger pool of eligible minorities to hire from. That's already happening on its own.
Bill Belicick put on the headset like right out of college and before that he was a TA coaching assistant for his dad/ So you end up with a 68 year old guy with 50 years experience.

So teams could hire a black guy to the position to get the draft picks but then give all the power to an assistant or something? Only racists think skin color has any bearing on how well someone coaches a football team.
