I'll give Carter credit he tried his heart out to be a good President and he had two okay years before everything went to hell. He got dealt a bad hand and was a sacrificial lamb for a crappy era; it didn't really matter who was President they couldn't overcome those troubles that were destined for then. Whoever was going to follow was destined for a good run but not 1977-1980. Ford was the better candidate by far but he woulda had troubles too; I do think he could have avoided the Iran issues perhaps but the economy woulda been crap regardless.
Obama never had what you'd consider a good year by the classical term. He had some successes if you consider them that but that last term was an epic fail. His biggest legacy is going to be both the shady crap he did behind the scenes but his ruining of that Dem base for at least a generation. He inspired them to be entitled, loud, stupid, and useless. He gave those morons reasons to run their mouths and we have been punished ever since. Just hope that trend dies off in another decade or two but I'm not sure it will.
