Artemis is a NASA pork programme. Sorry to say that, I grew up on NASA in the late 60's and it was fantastic. But it's a shadow of its former self. They're paying over $1.79 billion dollars for 18 engines that can't be reused, almost $100 million a pop.
Compare with SpaceX - a Falcon Heavy launch costs $90 million dollars, and almost all of the rocket is reusable! - they return to earth under their own power - utterly mind-blowing to see.
I agree with you, the future is going to be cool and so much if it is going to happen in space, but (sadly) NASA isn't going to be a major player.
I agree its folly to think of him as 'one of us', but dude is a free thinker, and damn good at his area of expertise.
Nothing he ever did was a cuck move... some stuff he's done was a leftists douche tendency, but it wasn't a cuck.
IMO if Trump and Elon pursue their individual goals independently, they won't always align, but they sure as hell will synergize and be one hell of a fucking powerhouse.
I think those appear in a very weird documentary. If anyone’s bored, it’s fairly entertaining but also bar shit crazy, a bunch of climate alarmist worship aliens and believe they’re just visiting us to help us, since they traveled here, they’re far superior to us and so we shouldn’t feel threatened, if they wanted to destroy our planet they could in a flash. Governments around the world have been scaring the populace for decades in an attempt to prepare them for inter-planetary war.
It’s called Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind - Dr. Stephen Greer. Again, I don’t buy into much or any of it, but if you smoke, like up a bowl and grab some Mac & Cheese, it’s a fun documentary.
Greer is a conman a proven faker, liar and money grabbing crook. just a little search would discover this. sorry to say.
For a time Greer's web site sported the creature on the left claiming it had been photographed during one of Greer's midnight UFO vectoring sessions along with various entities looking suspiciously like lens reflections. Affectionately dubbed 'Mothra' by Greer's detractors, this picture and others like it were removed to howls of laughter.>
No one is going to see this, but I really wish my dad got to see this.
He was in the Air Force, and was in one of the fighter planes headed to Cuba during the Bay of Pigs incident. He was 19 and both excited and crapping his pants.
When I was really little, he was trying very hard to be an astronaut. He got close. Pretty darn close. Lots of training/elimination levels. But he didn't make the final cut.
So, instead, he became a commercial pilot and invented jet engines in our barn. He used to chain me to the wall and my job was to lob half-frozen chickens into a sucking vortex of blades while he monitored what happened. I thought it was great fun. So did he.
(Birds can make engines fail to this day. He was trying to invent an engine that could chew up just about anything meaty and keep going. I still love the hot smell of jet fuel.)
He was fearless. He would have given ANYTHING to have been blasted into space in an untested tin can.
He could fly anything. He even used to fly around the neighborhood in a fan + parachute-powered lawnchair.
He HATED helicopters, though. Said they fly like rocks with zero glide if the engines failed. You just fall out of the sky.
He always said that, if you flew a commercial aircraft with MAF (My Ass First) in mind, everyone would survive an "unplanned landing". (Pilots usually die. If they survive, everyone survives.)
Cancer got him at age 43, though, before he could perfect his commercial engine. No symptoms until he collapsed one day. He was stage 4, and gone in 3 months.
I saw it and wow! Your dad is a badass, enjoyed reading it. I accidentally stumbled upon a photo of someone who got too close to a running jet engine and it was not something I ever want to see a photo of again much less IRL, a rare instance where I can confidently say: I'm glad he chained you to a wall lol. What about some sort of mesh wire screen, or that'd probably hinder air flow too much? I'm completely talking out of my ass here, but that's really interesting that you were able to witness what he was trying to develop. Wasn't it geese or something that brought down the flight with Sully, Miracle on the Hudson River a few years ago? Anyhow, thanks for sharing that!
Idiots on the Interwebs complaining the delta logo was stolen from Star Trek. It takes less than 90 seconds of Googling to discover Star Trek stole it from NASA.
NOOOOO we need to be spending our tax dollars on free college/healthcare/abortions/gender-inclusive training for non-Americans, not conquering the final frontier RRREEEEEEEEEEEE
My son was born around the time GEOTUS announced the space force. When we watched it live, I was bouncing him on my legs chanting “you’re gonna go to space” over and over.
There is an age for getting in on the ground floor of a new branch though. The only old people you are going to see there are the lifer officers and non coms. One of the main reasons is that the military wants you fresh and ready to be molded into their culture not already formed by life in the civilian sector as they are often greatly at odds.
No doubt. NASA's been underfunded for far too long but with some of that lovely military industrial complex money things might taking off soon. We're on the precipice of some cool shit my man.
One of my buddies who's in the Air Force and 1 year from retiring said, "Fuck it!!! I'm putting in my application to transfer to Space Force." He filled it out and the squadron commander signed it. It's never too late unless you are already retired.
He'll definitely delay his retirement if he can get transferred. My buddy and all the Airmen under him are 3D1X2 Cyber Transport and it looks like Space Force is leaning that way. Every single one of them filled out the application and the squadron commander signed all of them.
I wish everyday that I could go back into the military and serve under President Trump. When he was elected I called all the services and asked if I was medically cleared and signed away my medical retirement if I could join.. unfortunately I cannot
Yep, I can only imagine how much more excited my younger self might have been had the prospect of joining the US Space Force existed when I was growing up.
I'm 21 currently studying for Astronomy and Astrophysics, and seeing this has me pretty freaking hopeful for the future of Space exploration. Not a big fan of militarizing space but it's simply an inevitability, better the USA over Chyna any day. Here's hoping they put out some internships!
The space force already exists. It's mostly been a process of changing the names on the billboards, so to speak. There were plenty of civilian jobs in in the AF Space Command. Presumably they all went over to the Space Force. Join today!
My son just finished his first year in college, seeking a degree in mechanical engineering. He has wanted to be involved in the space program ever since I can remember. When he was in HS he would spend his free time using a CAD program to design habitats for Mars. I look at him and think: "I know the stars would have to align just right, but I could be looking at someone who may one day walk on the planet Mars." What an amazing time to be a discipline and dedicated student. Sorry, I just had to share that with someone.
Check out the difference between the Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserve when you have time. Very seperate entities.
I heavily discourage enlisting in the Air National Guard if you kinda want to do something else. If your prospective guard unit has a non-space mission, then you're not going to be going over to the space force until you finish your commitment to them.
I heavily discourage enlisting at all. Try to be an officer if you can. Life will just be better.
Don't worry, Barron Trump has already taken care of you. He used the time machine his Dad got from his uncle who got it from Tesla, and with the help of John Miller he's picked up the 13 year old you, and you'll all meet up again in the future .
I’m graduating from high school now and don’t have college in my plans, what process can I follow to join? And what does serving in the space force look like?
"A tremendous flag, the best space flag you've ever seen. Made by some truly great people, that I can tell you folks. We're going to build a lunar colony and we're going to build it so fast it's going to be unbelievable. My great friend Shinzo Abe has promised the United States a full contingent of YF-21 and YF-19 fighters to celebrate this historic achievement."
I'm 31 and frantically trying to get recruited into the Air Force for this reason. Wish me luck, Pedes.
Artimus accords sounds like it's right out of The Expanse, or some other sci-fi show. So pumped for the cool future, not the1984 dystopian future.
Just be careful m the deep stats is still in power. They can abuse the programs like they did the spy networks and DARPA.

Eh, Elon is certainly no cuck.

I love how reddit is obsessed with space travel, but refuses to acknowledge republicans fund the space industry and dems reduce their budget
Obama ditched the plan to go back to the moon because "we've already been there"
Thanks for the link, this is fascinating, and I’d forgotten about the Fighter jet videos (https://www.navytimes.com/news/your-navy/2019/09/20/what-is-that-man-navy-confirms-videos-of-flying-objects/)

thank you for that link to the greer documentary! i was interested in watching it as entertainment while in an altered state.
Greer is a conman a proven faker, liar and money grabbing crook. just a little search would discover this. sorry to say.
READ ALL ABOUT HIM HERE & MANY OTHER BIG NAMES IN THE SO CALLED UFO COMMUNITY: http://www.ufowatchdog.com/steven_greer.htm
Good luck son. Make us proud
Good luck, Air Force is cool but note a potential power struggle: https://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/urgent-need-united-states-space-force/

Thanks. It's really is my father's story.

That flag is perfect.
Idiots on the Interwebs complaining the delta logo was stolen from Star Trek. It takes less than 90 seconds of Googling to discover Star Trek stole it from NASA.
Hm..Idiots gonna idiot? Nothing new there
It really is a great piece of graphic design.
Can we buy the flag yet?
NOOOOO we need to be spending our tax dollars on free college/healthcare/abortions/gender-inclusive training for non-Americans, not conquering the final frontier RRREEEEEEEEEEEE
This is exactly what the Democrats I follow on social media are saying. They are so salty over Space Force.
My son was born around the time GEOTUS announced the space force. When we watched it live, I was bouncing him on my legs chanting “you’re gonna go to space” over and over.
Man my son loves stars.

In space, no one can hear you REEEEEEEEEE!
We are the middle children of history. Born too late to explore earth, born
too earlyjust in time to explore spaceNo doubt. NASA's been underfunded for far too long but with some of that lovely military industrial complex money things might taking off soon. We're on the precipice of some cool shit my man.
Just imagine the tech POTUS has already seen...
Same Here. Born too soon! SPACE FORCE CHINA BTFO
Chelsea Clinton will be claiming to have dreamed about joining the space force at 13.
Then claim to have been crestfallen after receiving a letter rejecting her as an insufferable donkey faced cunt.
As a reminder to you pedes: The word "Cunt" should only be reserved for certain circumstances. This is an example of the appropriate use.
Chelsea Clinton is an example of the creatures we'll have to fight in the outer planets
She is the true horse faced pony
Trump Caption: "As you can see it's flying at full mast which is obviously a nod to Michelle"
I was told—thanks to lefty liberalism—we can just self identify as a 13 year old.
Mark the calendar boys. Leftists have finally provided us something useful.
Form up! I propose the unit name "longbeard Kids"
MY GRAY HAIR IS A FASHION AND LIFESTYLE CHOICE!!
One of my buddies who's in the Air Force and 1 year from retiring said, "Fuck it!!! I'm putting in my application to transfer to Space Force." He filled it out and the squadron commander signed it. It's never too late unless you are already retired.
Only a 2 year service commitment for switching over. Runs concurrent with any commitment he already has.
He'll definitely delay his retirement if he can get transferred. My buddy and all the Airmen under him are 3D1X2 Cyber Transport and it looks like Space Force is leaning that way. Every single one of them filled out the application and the squadron commander signed all of them.
I wish him luck. But not too much luck. I'm submitting my release this week too lol
Ootini!!!
Utini.
1 U.
It is never too late, to do, whatever it is that you choose to do.
I finally got it. Thanks silence.
Mars bitches!!

I'll definitely look into it! We really are living in the best timeline.

I had a ton of engineering friends in ROTC. The Air Force (and Space Force) will love them.
Cyber is the big thing lately. Hope he knows computers.
That flag is so derivative of the flag of Star Trek's United Federation of Planets. I absolutely love it.
THESE ARE THE STORIES OF STARSHIP MAGA!
Air Guard will take you until 40. I’m talking to recruiters now.
Will you be able to join Space Force with Air Guard?
They told me possibly but the branch is so new that it’s not totally known yet.
Would you join not knowing?
Yes absolutely. I want to serve.
Same here. But I'm thinking OCS
Try the reserve. There are space reserve units. You'll probably live in Colorado or California though.
Air guard is a reserve force. That’s all I have available for my age range as far as I know.

Space is too dangerous for the youth. Send the healthy 45+ who have years of wisdom, skills, and already raised a family!
Not gonna lie, wish they had a flying saucer in there somewhere just to do it.
God damn it Bill Clinton, You stole my childhood!
My son thought about it, but you know bullshit mandatory vaccines are coming to the military.
They've been here for decades
Man I would join the space force in a hot minute if I wasn’t so old
I hope we have Netflix circle jerks about space exploration and excite kids without the propaganda
Pretty epic flag tbh
Damn, is 52 with prior service accepted? I wanna be in the space force.
I don't know. It all depends how we get space Marines.
I only had the Air Force as a lad. ICBM crew commander for 5 years.
Born too late to explore the world, or join Space Force. Born too early to explore the Galaxy.
Maybe not, doesn't that depend on how fast civs get there?
Starfleet.
The man in my family don't have the body type for space force. Unfortunately at first it'll be for smaller men and women
Do you want to know more?
What a wonderful picture. Truly historic and packed with great positive symbolism.
LONG LIVE SPACE FORCE!! LONG LIVE THE GATEWAY PROJECT!
"A tremendous flag, the best space flag you've ever seen. Made by some truly great people, that I can tell you folks.
