I heard a gun grabber on the radio say almost exactly that. She said such guns should be banned because they're what people think of when someone talks about gun violence. Therefore, such weapons should be banned so they don't have to fear seeing one.
At a party at my house someone mentioned I owned a lot of guns so typically people wanted to see some. So I decided to flex my FFL nuts a little and brought out the KRISS Vector.
And one of the dudes girlfriends starts hyperventilating. The SBR was "scary and triggered her PTSD"
Now being someone who served for 24 years this little aside kind of yanked my chain. "Oh, you have ptsd? Where did you serve?"
Oh she didn't serve. She was bullied in middle school. A woman, in her 30;s, has ptsd from something over two decades ago and is having a panic attack over a firearm. "Oh, you must have gone to a cool school where the bullies had SBR's fitted for .45acp. And here my school was kind of pussy with just 5.56mm, and NATO at that."
